Excellent and highly knowledgeable professor. Good sense of humor too. She expects a lot from students but isn't that what college is all about? After her class changed my major to Geology. Work your tail off like you should and you will get an A too. Other subjects may be easier but they are also not as interesting.

Don't take it. you would think ah dinosaurs "easy" not at all.. studied everything and still got a C. she will tell you that everyone will get a C because its the average score. avoid!!! and lectures are boring and she goes way to fast and can;t keep up. youll learn somethings but it's a 100 level class and expect a C

Let me just tell you a little something about the dale ann springer. I don't even have this class anymore but every week i reminisce on how incredibly bad it was and how big of a joke the teacher was. By far the worst teacher/most worthless class i have ever taken.

she puts**** on her tests that we have never learned, most of the**** on the 5 page study guide we have to google and rarely 105 of it shows up on the tests. group projects and worksheets that she never EVER gives full credit on. AVOID this class, she is crazy,unfair and treats us all like idiots but then expects us to know so much for the tests

i took this class thinking "hey dinosaurs, that should be fun." i could not have been more wrong. She managed to make a fun topic horrible. I learned nothing, i gained nothing. The class average on the first test was 65%. A good teacher would say "maybe I'm doing something wrong my students are doing poor." You know what she told me, study harder.

By far the worst decision i ever made... Dinosaurs, come on, this class is beyond ridiculous. maybe if you were majoring in palenontalogy, but if not stay away, AND BLOOM does not offer that major SO STAY AWAY!!!!! i laughed when i heard dinosaurs, no im full of regret.

Has a terrible attitude. It's a 100 level class and many non-science majors take it for gen ed requirement. It makes her mad. "You all get Cs." Could be a way to introduce Science in a good way, but she makes people hate it. She gives terrible tests, puts ridiculous things on it, and hides behind "It's fair game." She shouldn't teach. AVOID.

She's extremely passionate about what she teaches, but the first day when she hands out the syllabus she pretty much tells you that "C" is the average grade and that's what most of us are and that it's not the grade that matters, it's what you learn. I didn't learn anything about dinos, but I did about rocks. Tests are nearly impossible. AVOID.

I got an 'A' in the class by working my tail off all semester. If you aren't willing to work hard, I'd suggest not taking the class. Each class contained loads of information and it was nearly impossible to take notes on. Occasioanlly, she put questions on the test that weren't covered in the book or in class.

Dr. Springer is a very nice, understanding lady. She loves what she does. This can make the class fun and interesting.... however do not take the course unless you need to... or you like learning about rocks. We learned hardly anything about actual dinos. Test Qs assumed we already knew types of dinos. Prof thinks everyone should get Cs.

Dr. Springer is a nice and caring lady, but unless this course is a requirement, I recommend not taking it. She is often times unclear and speaks as if you should have prior knowledge to the subject. The lectures can be interesting(but don't bank on it) and her exams draw questions from the sky. Good luck.

Excellent due to the fact that she knows her subject well and can answer anything you ask. Gets students interacting together in class instead of just straight lecture. The only issues are...gives huge quantities of info to learn & sometimes the material on the tests seems like it was plucked out of nowhere and you wonder..when did we cover this?

Flies through material too fast. Exams are extremely difficult. She puts material on exams that were not covered {she admits to this} but still counts it. Take this class if you are working on your Ph.D in geology, and not if you are just looking to fulfill a group C requirement.
