THE consummate left-wing liberal professor who attempts to brainwash his students into ideological lockstep. When you hear that stereotype mentioned, think Rupnick. Nothing wrong with Liberals, but a prof. saying that those who think differently do not deserve to be in a college classroom - THAT'S deplorable. Wish I had more space to elaborate.

Excellent Professor with a passion for what he teaches. I took several of his classes and have found that they have all helped me in my every day life. He recently retired. I know Suffolk and the students will miss such a great Professor.

Rupnick is great, He trys to scare you off at first, but he just tries to prove his point. The man is great at what he does and is brilliant. He does use the textbook ALOT on his tests. DO ALL HIS READINGS! He is also very smart and gives a lot of advice for life outside the classroom- Take it he knows what hes talking about.

Wonderful professor! Very knowledgeable. Helpful, very clear, a no-nonsense guy. Must read material to pass this class. Class participation is important as well. He's very disciplined and has a loud bark but when needed, has a gentle touch.

I have recently transfered from SCCC (riverhead) and a comment made a while ago stating "4 yr. colleges will be as demanding as him" This statement is completely untrue, I go to St. Joes and I have never came across a teacher that was as demanding as him, all I can say is good luck to anyone that gets him as a prof. DON'T TAKE HIM! WORST TEACHER!!!

He is not the professor you want if you are not a serious student. However, if you are, his class is a wonderful learning experience. I changed so much from his stories and views. He is highly intelligent and he wants his students to have the same knowledge, he wants them to do well by them doing the work. A fabulous professor.

Becomes way too caught up in criticizing his students. He teaches pretty well, when he's not preaching, but the tests are hard; you have to read the book! Seems like a decent man underneath all of the ego. Wouldn't recommend him unless you won't ever be late for class, will always read, and are willing to be humiliated now and then.

Demanding but one of the best teachers i have every had, as long as u take good notes (i sugest u re-write them as well) READ!!! get the paper done early your fine. Dont listen to the slackers comments, you must be a serious student to take his class. i promise you he'll open your eyes and brains to many things.

I got an A in every class I took before his and every one after; got a B with him. I think he perceives an A student as a threat to his intelligence. He's a good communicator but I would have enjoyed the subject matter much more if he hadn't been so rigid.

Possibly the worst Prof. at SCCC!!! Arrogant, egotistical, maniacal jerk! He grades unfairly on his papers, and gives tests on info NOT covered in class. He abuses the students for being even 20 seconds late although he is often tardy himself. He yells and IS NOT an effective teacher. I hate him!!!

Just do your work and you'll succeed in any class. Suffolk students need teachers like this because if you transfer 4 year, all of your teachers will be this demanding. He is liberal, and openly voices his opinions, and lest we forget, that's the nature of freedom. Debate is necessary for learning.
