Paul was easily one of the best professors I had at Penn State. Now, several years later, he and I are still in touch and he's helped me advance my career and I know many others have had the same experience.

Most interesting class I have taken at PSU so far. Although the homework was very tedious, the class covers many interesting topics. The posters were fun to make and to learn from. Lastly, oral finals will help you prepare for challenges in the remainder of your academic career.

Good class to take. Easier than regular chem. Just turn in your homework on time, do the projects that he gives and STUDY for the FINAL. The classes are fun and informative, if you like chemistry.

very smart & funny guy, and on the surface, nice. however, when u try to get to know him, he's unapproachable. doesnt have office hrs, is always running to some meeting, & is unhelpful on IM. a pity, because w/ his connections, he could have really helped your career if he chose to. good class though

good class. take it if you can. you learn a lot more than just the theoretical chemistry, like measurements, materials and other applications. there's a lot of homework, 2 poster presentations, a paper. not too many tests or quizzes. for most things the grading is relatively easy, but the oral final is pretty tough. he's an alright guy overall

Class was great. I really learned a lot and Paul is extremely enthusiastic and helpful. The class takes a lot of work and effort, but the overall grading scale isn't so bad. I really, truly enjoyed this class...it reaffirmed my interest in my major, and while it was a lot of work, it was absolutely worth it. I got so much out of it.

Great professor. Lots of HW but what do you expect, its college. Grade is mostly based on posters and oral presentations, only 2 exams, one is short and one is oral. A must for any chem major or some related major.

Paul Weiss is amazing. I would honestly attend the lectures of his class again. They were that enjoyable. The class covers lots of interesting topics beyond the Chem 13 syllabus and the two poster projects plus the oral final exam add a unique touch. Also, he's frequently on AIM, meaning that you don't really need to go to his office hours.

This is the best class ever! Paul Weiss is zany but very dedicated to the subject. You will work your butt off, but it is more than worth it. Don't stress about the projects or oral exam--as long as you work hard and care about the class you should do just fine. I highly recommend this class to anyone, even if you think you don't like chemistry.

Awesome teacher. Didn't even mind that the final was an oral exam. :-) The elements poster project was lots of fun (I learned way too much about sulfur!)

Chem 13H was one of the most fulfilling classes I took here at PSU. Not only does the class allow you to learn gen chem, but also permits you to see science for the dynamic field that it is. Much exploration is allowed. Although the Hw was a pain, stick w/ it, you're grade reflects you're effort. Def. Take 13H if possible.

Amazing amazing class; stellar professor. Won the teaching award with good reason. Take Chem 13H if you possibly can. Even if you already took AP Chem. It will make your life. Lots of homework, but well worth it.
