Questioning some of the previous comments here. Pompous? Arrogant? He's brilliant, as are his colleagues or else they wouldn't be in their positions. They can express that in whatever way they want. It's dope that he goes by Adrian. That's not imposing your intelligence. Was always happy to hook a brother up during office hours. Thank you, Adrian!

You have to go to his lectures because all his notes are fill in the blank but he provides the templates online (it was a lot to print). He knows his stuff and he's really funny so the lectures aren't so dry. He does go pretty fast and it can be easy to lose track. He explained the content pretty well but get ready to work hard.

One of the absolute best profs at Guelph, he's more than happy to help you if you make the effort to ask him, and is very approachable outside of class. This class really turned around for me when I started making use of office hours.

Adrian, as he likes to be called, is very pompous. The kind of guy who is very smart, who knows he's smart, and doesn't let you forget it. During lectures he often says things that make you self conscious such as "I can do this question in 5 seconds and you should too."

Great prof, very good at explaining stuff IF YOU ASK. However, he rushes through concepts and expects you to know your stuff. Doesn't waste time going over stuff you should know from high school.

Nice and clear enough, tho the best help I ever got in uni was from his son, who isnt a prof but a student there. Met him day of my 1040 exam and reminded me that I have everything I need and want in life already and that wont change. I remember that before going into every exam. never even got his name, hope to see him again sometime and thank him

The nicest man I've ever met. More than willing to help any student if they are clearly trying to help themselves. Chem is no cake walk my people; so going in, choking, and blaming the prof is hilarious from a perspective given from someone who works hard for their grades. He'll help you if you help yourself. If you don't want to, go to college.

Adrian Schwan is by far one of the best profs at this university. Chemistry is one of those subjects that makes you work for it and he makes you want to do it yourself. He is so nice and helpful during his office hours. Other than being funny and having cool quotes, he's knowledgable and gives you all the resources you'll need to succeed.

Overall good professor. Out of all of the Chem 1040 profs he is definitely one of the better ones. His pronunciations are pretty clear but sometimes his words were a bit off. Kind of intimidating so I didn't go to him to help but he seemed available at times.

Amazing prof. Explains concepts very well and not very rushed in lecturing. Notes were just as great; felt complete, outlined the key steps/ pointers and that made a really big difference. He expects that you know everything, which is what university is. Overall amazing prof would recommend.

Posts fill in the blank notes online that make it super easy and clear to follow. He kinda rubs people the wrong way.. has quite the personality but gets through the content and is happy to answer questions. The course itself is very difficult and you are expected to learn/know a lot on your own so get a tutor or put a lot of time aside for chem

Chemistry has always been a hard subject for me but he made it the most fun class I've ever had. I went to every single lecture. Didn't miss a single one. And that's saying a lot since I hardly went to any others. He's absolutely hilarious and makes everything so clear. I wish he taught more classes. Still a hard course but he made it fun.

Lectures are long and jam packed with information, but he's incredibly clear with the concepts and if a question is asked he answers as thoroughly as he can. He says funny things sometimes and is just like a chemistry knowledgeable dad.

My first two lectures I didn't like him at all but he definitely grew on me. You'll get a good laugh at least once a class. MUCH better than the other chem profs by the sounds of it. The tests were pretty hard but he's not the one that writes them.

Tough tester. Not the best at explaining things either. Definitely expects way more than what he has taught you in examinations. Google and the textbook are your friends.
