Professor Silver is such an amazing lecturer and a great historian. He's so mellow and relaxed and quirky with this oh-so-wise aura to him. He's such a cute old man and he looks so cheery all the time! I don't know what you other people are thinking but he's such a fan-friggin-tastic professor, so go eat ass!

Everyone says he's "like Santa","funny","makes jokes" etc. He can be very patronizing of lower-year undergrads and scornful. Just because a professor makes bad jokes does not make him a good prof. Sometimes appears to be on the verge of distain and cynicism. Perhaps it's a good thing he's planning on retiring. Better off teaching 4thyr-seminars.

Great prof. Thought i would be bored out of my mind in this class but he actually made it so i enjoyed going to lectures. Since he is a such a good lecturer, it is easy to learn the class material. The course was structured like a high school course with different components being worth 10-15% so getting a bad grade or 2 was very forgiving overall

taught the first half of the course, great prof! funny and incredibly knowledgable. made a point to research questions he couldn't answer in class, dedicated to his subject and his students. his passion really transfers on to the class - who knew canadian history could be this interesting? :)

funny guy, looks like an olde time admiral! He'd make truly cheesy jokes and then get all self-depricating when nobody laughed, which made me smile even more. Excellent at relaying the history in a contemporary framework
