Brother Parrish is a great teacher. He is very smart and uses power points a lot. You don't really have to do the reading on your own because you do it in class. Tests are easy. 1/2 page assignment due each class on lecture for previous test.Counts attendance.Goes on tangents sometimes. Good class though. Learned a lot. :)

AMAZING. I had a different professor for BOM 121 and it wasn't half as interesting. Bro. Parrish is an awesome teacher and makes class interesting and intriguing. I've never felt so connected with the scriptures. He is very helpful and realizes that religion courses shouldn't be about grades, but about actually learning and growing.

Loved this class. He is an excellent teacher that has a great story for everything. He helped make BoM stories come to life, making it easier to remember. There is required reading and scripture marking, but it's not too hard. I highly recommend this class!!

If you read the BOM 30 min every day and listen in class then it is pretty easy. You can use your BOM for 10 min on tests so that helps if you know how to use it well.

Awesome teacher, really cares about students, and he teaches in a way that will help you remember. The work load isn't the easiest for a BOM class, but if you want to get a lot out of class, I would definitely recommend him. He is such a genuine and caring guy. Great Study guides too, if you do them, you will do well.

AWESOME but he goes off on tangents REALLY easily and WAY TOO OFTEN. Learned a lot about the PoGP, but a lot I really didn't need. Lectures often ridiculous and stupid. Don't really need to pay attention in class. The only grades are the 2 tests, the final, and a research paper (topic is your choice). Extra credit for perfect attendance.

parish is the man! he has a entertaining story for any question you have. he knows a ton and loves to share it. tests are pretty easy, and the essay for the class is helpful when you prepare for the test. this is by far the best course i have had here at BYU. strongly recommend him for the Book of Mormon courses.

Brother Parrish is a very nice man but his class, however, was nothing more than glorified seminary. I didn't learn anything new or interesting in his class and I often felt like the lectures were a waste of my time. He often also inserted odd political asides, BOM apologetic moments, and other things that did not contribute the lecture. Avoid.

Prideful? The thought never crossed my mind. Our class was tight-knit and like a big family. He knows SO much, and has a story for every principle. He's beyond helpful and understanding. If you don't like him, re-examine yourself. I didn't like the .5 hour reading, but I'm a slacker. He covered all the test material in class. No tricks. So caring!

Really great guy and you can tell he loves his class and what he teaches. He likes to stray from the topic A LOT and he inserts some of his doctrine into the lesson. Go to class though and the class/tests are really easy! He goes out of his way to help the students. Keep an open mind and you will like him.

Bro Parrish is a good guy, but I didn't like this class. Didn't really feel the Spirit or learn much doctrine. I transferred here from a school w/a great Institute program, so this class was disappointing. Tests had a lot of filler questions that you would have no reason for studying, so there's missed questions for things that shouldn't be there

Brother Parrish is knowledgeable about the gospel but tends to lose focus in class. Often he teaches his opinions as doctrine and tests you on the same; that was my greatest frusteration. Overall the class wasn't uplifting. He seems to struggle with pride, as we all do, and works hard to defend his weaknesses instead of working toward improvement.

I find it hard to believe that anyone could not love Brother Parrish. His classes are always full with students who love him because despite what people say he is an amazing professor who loves his students and the subject matter He teaches the subject clearly, He goes out of his way to help us learn. His class helped me to love the Book of Mormon.

He is the sweetest guy...I had a hard time at first, and no one really liked him but if you keep an open mind you will learn to love him and then you will get so much more out of class. He is so knowledgable and experienced and he loves his students! Easy tests..2 midterms 1 essay..definitely recommend him!

I would not recommend this class at all. It was more of gospel according to him. He also taught his ideas and speculations as gospel principles. He also taught things I know weren't true. Then you are tested on his ideas on the gospel. Also often times in class he will avoid answering a question by laughting it off. Discussions are off topic and ha

I hate to talk bad about people so i will be as kind as i can. i am warning all people to avoid this class with Parrish like the devil. I learned nothing (no exaggeration) new from the class. The discussions are pointless and often off topic. Most of what came out of his mouth was annoying, offensive, questionable or boring AVOID HIM AtALLCOSTS

This class was kind of hard for a religion class...the multiple choice questions on the tests always seemed like there were 2 right answers so they were kinda tricky...you gotta listen in class and really study the notes and powerpoints. AND there are lots of quotes from prophets. study hard! He's very nice and easy to talk to though.

He's a cool guy. BUT it's super hard for a religion class. If you want an easy religion, don't take this class. If you want to work as if being in a science course, you can take it.
