Phipps is a terrible teacher. He is ignorant and takes joy in seeing people fail. His tests are hard to finish in time and are repetitive. He does a terrible job of teaching and collects his own data for the class (very boring). I wanted to cry in the exam.

Stats class was difficult, he does not explain anything. Had to teach myself and my lab instructor was more informative than him. Labs and clicker marks does help a lot but when it comes to the exams you know nothing

Hard teacher who barely teaches or explains anything. His exams are difficult and never gives you enough time to finish. If you want to pass, you need to get 100% on all labs and clicker questions.

He is very rude. Does not care at all about his students. He makes fun of students in class and calls them stupid. In addition, he does not teach or even make sense. His questions on the midterms make no sense but if you can find a way to de-code what he is asking you should be able to pass. Only help was the SOS.

Is there a rating of 0 available? He designs the midterms and exams so that you fail. He gives you only 1.5 hours to complete it, even though the class itself is 3 hours long. Rushes through every class. Makes no sense at all, and says "Hello" WAY TOO MUCH. Hope for a good TA in your lab- it is your only hope to pass the class.

Very enthusiastic professor. He's very knowledgeable in what he teaches, and he explains everything good in class (waay better than the book). I recomend to go to class and to memorize the slides and you'll be good. 1 midterm, 2 mini assignments and 1 final which were all easy and straight forward questions (no trick questions). Good overall

Phipps was by far the worst prof I have ever had. He doesn't teach at all, I learned everything from my lab GA who was fantastic. He makes everything extremely confusing and way too wordy to even decipher what the question is asking. Tests are way too long and repetitive. Overall a 0/10.

Dr. Phipps is a decent professor. He wants students to pass, but his lectures are horribly confusing. He says "hello" far too often. We had a girl break down crying in our midterm so that'll tell you a little bit about the course. Overall though, you can pass if you do the assignments and are half decent at test taking.

After 4 months of Alan's class he has become my dad. I love him so much. He always says hello to me when I don't answer questions. Also gave me a great grade , and plays sweet jams during the break.

As long as you attend class, answer the clicker questions, show up to the labs, and do the labs you should be able to ace the class. He's somewhat hard to understand at times, but if you attend the SOS help offered by the University of Windsor for midterm and exam help everything should make sense.

I hate stats. It's hard for me. This professor; however, designs the class in a way so you can pass. Everything is practical. He is the only prof that understands we pay so much, and he WANTS to pass us. Doesn't even use textbook. Buy a clicker, do your lab reports, and show up to class! This prof CARES.

Phipps is quite the character. This stats class was super difficult but there's lots of opportunity to succeed between clicker marks and lab assignments. Overall the lectures weren't horrible but he's sometimes hard to understand.

All you have to do is show up for class and labs. He gives you the answers to the clicker questions and labs, then the GA goes over the lab answers again word for word and will give you perfect if you copy down what they say. Exams are based exactly off the labs too. Finished 250 with an 86.

Phipps: "I hope you all pass so I never have to see you again." At least we were on the same page. He doesn't care but he'll crack jokes all class, you'll have no clue what he's talking about but just get a good TA, do all the fool-proof assignments, and you can easily get a good grade.

I actually did remarkably well in this class! I got an 89% on the final. GO to lab, Turn off your phone in class, LITERALLY and pay attention! This is a class you need to take seriously because if you don't try and don't practice, you will probably get a 30% on the final. I'm not even good at math and I did well. You can too just TRY.

His answer to all students questions: "Oh it's easy!" and says "Hello" far too much. I see some people saying he gives all the answers? Yes, but that is the problem. Phipps DOES NOT teach you. Yes easy marks for assignments, but watch out for the exam, you will know NOTHING.

The class is reallly easy, its almost impossible to fail. Just make sure to attend all labs and do all assignments and you'll pass for sure. Exam and midterm are fair, make sure to know formulas. The professor himself is terrible. He's a nice guy, but a brutal lecturer, I sat there every class clueless and learned everything from the lab instructor

He's not a helpful professor and is not clear when teaching material. He makes things more difficult than they are. If it wasn't for SOS exam aids I would have had no clue what was going on. He expects novels written for answers on midterms and exam. Go to class for clicker question marks and to labs for easy marks!
