Professor Menard is a very experienced. You can tell that he has been a professor for a long time. His class can be challenging though as there is a quiz on every Monday. His tests are all short answer and essay questions so if you miss class a lot I would not recommend taking him.

He should not be teaching. He is far too old to still have any business interacting with students. His lab is pointless, the reports are pointless. All experiments could have been exercises rather than reports. If possible, avoid taking him for lab.

This strapping young lad is a TERRIBLE professor. If he wasn't the department chair he probably wouldn't be at the school anymore. He rambles on for a good hour, wasting time that could be used to complete and understand the experiments. He's a hard grader, and doesn't seem to understand that all of the experiments could be done as exercises.

I can't believe I wasted tuition money taking Menard. Extremely tough grader, boring class, repeats his words, and doesn't seem to help much at all. Tended to use the word situATION many times and was highly annoying. SVSU needs to remove him immediately.

Don't plan on doing well unless you have previous tests. I'm very good at math but his tests are insane! I had an A the whole semester then I took his 3 hour final where barely anyone finished and it brought me down to a B+. Really nice guy... but very hard class.

Dr. Menard is a good guy and I learned a lot in his class. It was not an easy class by any means. His tests were tough...mostly short answer questions. If you pay attention in class and study for the tests, you will do fine. I would recommend him.

Well, Dr. Menard is definitely a thorough instructor - he loves his physics. Has trouble communicating to students, ie "teaching" but it is only because he treats you like a co-worker, someone with the respect of knowledge in the field. Call it immersion therapy! Not a hand-holder, will not spoon-feed, but very capable and intelligent.

One of the worst at SVSU. Hates his students and wants them to fail. Does not curve and his tests are insane. They are usually over items not covered in depth. Will not help you if you go to his office. Talks down to the students all the time. If you are about to take him drop the class and wait for a new professor or for him to retire.

OMG! AVOID THIS PROFESSOR! Dr. Menard is a nice person, but very hard professor. Classes were boring and tests were way too hard and never on what we covered in class. He left during labs so if you needed help you would have to ask one of the other confused classmates. Over half of the kids in my class failed. Good luck if you get stuck with him!

I did not enjoy taking Dr. Menards Physics class. He was hard to follow, and his tests were extreamly hard and were never over what was covered in class. If had the chance to take a class offered by him again, I would decline. Labs were difficulut because usually he left and went to his office.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! it will destroy your GPA. Physics is hard enough as it is, but this guy is horrible. He lectures are so confusing and the textbook he uses only makes things worse. The tests are very hard, and many times it was over material that was not covered in class!!! Very stressful, confusing and frustrating!

Well.. Dr. Menard. He loves Physics. He is an interesting conversationalist. The ultimate science enthusiast! Very nice. As a professor, don't take it personal if he isn't easy to warm up to. I am acquiring skills from this class. He presents a good lecture and gives credit for work attempted (partial cr.). Time intensive, at least 4-6 hr/week.
