This class was the most boring 2 hours I have ever had to sit through. Lectures ALL class and doesn't do anything to try to make it fun. Most kids in the class get bored after the first painful 45 minutes of lecture that they start doing other work, or online shopping (witnessed on the computer screens as I sat in the back/middle of the class)

Tough attendance policy. Great skill at reading from textbook made PowerPoints. The first 1/2 of each class is reviewing the second half of the class before. And if you ask a question, most likely youll get an answer that clarifies nothing. Thank god for crash course!

Professor K is great! I took his World Econ class for the online MBA program. The workload is fair, and you'll do great as long as you listen, read the textbook, and submit assignments on time. He always grades within 7 days, and he responds very quickly to any questions (even on the weekends!). Highly recommend taking his courses.

Prof. Katkov is a very smart man and he treats everyone one with respect. He does have a very strong accent and a super saiyan 3 sloppy hand writing, he makes you take lots of notes while majority of individuals will not understand what he saying or writing. Get the text book, read the chapters and you will do fine.

Very smart. If you can't understand his accent on day one then you should switch out because it only gets more unclear. lol he's smart tho and knows his stuff. can be condescending so if you're the type to keep to yourself you'll be fine. Lets you use a reference page on each test and quiz and reviews before.

WOW! I have never took an Econ class before, but with his accent I have learned a lot. He was not very helpful in explaining Micro for dummies so you will need to pay attention to everything. He drops the lowest quiz grade and make sure your there to sit in front so you can try and understand him. He is a very smart man that enjoys micro.

He's a little intimidating at first but I actually learned a lot from this class. He explains things really well and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. His classes are engaging and the amount of work felt about right.

The lecture was long and dull. He keeps repeating stuff over and over again. He's very generous with grades as long as you try your hardest. Get ready for a test on every meeting. He will give you extra credits assignment though. Buy the book! Reading the book will fill the gap between the lectures.

This guy definitely knows what he is talking about but is very impersonal with his students. And very rude over email. If you ask for help or clarification he just assumes you were not paying attention, gives you attitude, and moves on. If you keep up on reading notes, and extra credit chances are you'll probably pass.

He usually runs his classes with 4-5 quizzes that he lets you do a practice before and then use the practice on the quiz. they are usually multiple choice. Had for micro and macro and he wasn't that bad. You need to really try and pay attention to get past his accent, i would recommend taking him 11:30 or later if you have trouble focusing.

Nice guy. Lectures are long but he tries to make them funny. Can be hard to understand but is willing to repeat himself. Not a lot of HW, and gives a pre quiz quiz, and you can use it on the test. He also gives the class a chance to debate their opinion on answers to quizzes, and if you have a good argument he gives extra points.

I had Katkov during my undergrad, and as a result of not paying attention or studying I had him in Graduate School. Maybe its a maturity thing, but you DEFINITELY need to make sure you pay attention in class and take advantage of EVERY opportunity he gives out for extra points... Participate, ask questions, and you should be fine!

This professor is a very bright individual. He knows what he is talking about and enjoys sharing it with the class. I think he has a tough appearance and might look intimidating, but he really is a very helpful teacher. The Russian accent isn't that bad. I think people don't understand what he's saying because they don't want to pay attention.
