Prof. Bernal was my favorite teacher this semester. He's passionate about Latin America and wants to share that with his students. The movies changed me, and the speakers and discussions aided learning greatly. If you take this class seriously, you'll do well. This is a relevant and important class. Prof. Bernal fun, funny, and insightful.TAKE HIM

Bernal is great. He's so funny and grades very fairly (I wouldn't call him an easy prof. but he's a very fair prof.) If you do the readings and participate you'll do well and learn a lot. He's one of the best Spanish profs I've ever had. I would love to take him again and would certainly recommend him!

All the readings and lectures are in Spanish, but Prof. Bernal's easy grading makes up for that. The whole grade comes from essays, and if you answer all the questions, you can get a 100. He also offers extra credit. You can save yourself a lot of money using the old edition of the textbook, there are a few differences but it worked for me.

Bernal is one of my favorite professors. Although class was not easy, it was always interesting. If you have a stupid question or are simply an idiot I don't advise speaking in class. You learn a lot but the tests were difficult. Office hours helped and your final grade reflects how much you care about the class.

this is a hispanic lit class. requires extensive daily reading if you intend on participating in class. grade is determined by essay tests, which he grades very fairly if you've paid attention to the main themes in the literature discussed in class. Bernal is a great professor, very intelligent and genuine. you will learn a lot from him.

In this course, you'll cover a wide range of verb tenses, which is great. Bernal will engage you in opinionated discussions and encourage you to see Spanish films and plays. I definitely had to work in his class. Not a bad professor.

Bernal is super-liberal so be prepared to hear his opinions on EVERYTHING. He'll call you out too but just make an attempt, he appreciates that. This class was VERY hard for me because Bernal expects you to already know everything. He doesn't review much. Make sure to tell him if you're really having problems, he is surprisingly helpful.

This is the hardest Spanish class I've ever taken! Bernal makes fun of students, tries to impose his beliefs on people, and is basically very rude to people. Thank God he realized everyone was doing really bad in the class and decidced to drop on test grade! My previous Spanish professor had recommended him over all the other 309 professors though.
