Comment:

One of my least favorite professors thus far. Made lecture attendance a near-requirement for knowing exam material yet wasted so much lecture time talking of off-topic stories pertaining to her personal life or going over basic concepts multiple times. 4 midterm exams seemed excessive and lab portion of class was dreadful.

Dr. Brody gave hard exams but it really helped to read the textbook and memorize everything (unfortunately). She is helpful outside of class and I feel like I learned a lot. Her final was impossible though. Lectures were pretty boring but an ok class.

Loved her as a lecturer - some people felt really strongly otherwise. She turned lectures into conversations and incorporated a lot of anecdotes and relevant data/events that applied to material we were learning. Very interesting. Comment:

Great class, and Professor Brody is one of the best teachers I've had. If you're interested in plants or insects, this class is a must. It isn't easy, but she gives you all the information you need to do well in the class... AS LONG AS YOU ACTUALLY ATTEND. The discussions every Friday are a great learning tool, but be ready to read a lot of papers.

I like Dr.Brody as a person, she's nice to talk to and does know her stuff. But she's really unclear and tests were strangely formatted. Instead of testing on major bio concepts she tested on random details and things she found interesting. You never know what to study and you often end up over studying but her tests are unrelated.

Brody is unclear. Her exam questions are poorly written, and her teaching is awful. She is not prepared for class, and asks demands factual responses to subjective questions w/o room for discussion. She is a slow grader, and will not admit that she is wrong even when presented with the verified truth. I recommend Cahan if you have to take BCOR 12.

She was by far one of the worse professors I have ever had. Lectures were not only incredibly boring, but I'm pretty sure she had no idea what she was talking about. Her exams were very confusing and not straightforward at all. She constantly contradicted herself in lecture, and I have never been so bored in a class.

Loved her. She was so awesome and bent over backwards to help students. She was super clear to me, but not to others from what I heard. Easy to develop a personal relationship, just be friendly and attentive, she notices.

Very passionate, enthusiastic, and overall a great teacher. She uses a lot of real life examples and keeps you interested. Her class isn't easy, but it definitely isn't too hard either, it's very manageable.

Professor Brody is so passionate that it's contagious. I was ambivalent about her at the beginning, but I enjoyed class so much towards the end because she had liable examples and kept a good pace when lecturing. *Her knowledge can seems stoic and intimidating at first, but she is just that good.

She is terrible. Class is unbelievable boring, and the questions she asks on the test are so unclear you have no idea what she's asking. On the final, the other teacher's questions were clear, but you could tell when Brody's questions came because you have no idea what she's asking. Do not take a class with her as a teacher.

I like her teaching. It was clear and I understood all the material. She was very good at going over a subject again if need. However, I didn't find her very congenial in person. She alwasys seemed a little to busy when I needed to talk to her. Overall, I liked the class.

Shes not awful but i wouldnt recommend her. She messes up so much during class its kind of pathetic. A lot of the times it doesnt seem like she knows what she is talking about. However, she is pretty easy.
