I thought she was a very good teacher... but her exams were difficult. As the last comment mentioned, I thought there was so much information to study for only 25 multiple choice questions. However, we did have the essays which were worth 50 pts. Still, I wish we would have reviewed more for the exams. The exams will make or break your grade.

Gilmore is a very knowlegable professor... I would encourage anyone interested in history (or if need GECs to complete) to take the 151-152 series with her. However, I found her exams difficult (studying for hours for only 25 MC quest and one essay). We never really reviewed for exams. She made history fun to learn and not boring.

An amazing professor and an amazing human being. Deeply in tune with history and you can easily tell she loves to teach it. HIGHLY recommend the honors courses with her - not overly difficult but certianly not push-overs. Also, the honors field trips will remain some of my best memories of college for me.

I think she is really tough. Whenever I asked her for help, I never felt like she gave me the help I needed. I will try to avoid taking a class from her again.

I took her three times: 1 quarter of American Hist and 2 of Asian Hist. She's not hard but not easy, either. But then, perhaps it's because of what a great prof she is. Of all of the numerous profs I've had over the years, she's easily one of the 3 best I've had. Absolutely excellent. And, IMO, hot. But then, I find smart women sexy.

Great prof.. 151 - Have to read 2 books (but don't worry, you won't waste much time reading the text, so u still have plenty of time for the novels). Midterms are 50/50 MC and 5 essays. (BTW, the book Killer Angels was made into a movie called Gettysburg - extremely accurate, too).
