He was overall a great instructor. He worried about every single student, provided enough material to study, marked labs and assignments quickly, received feedback in a good way. It's a little difficult to get 100% with him. He can always find something to dock mark you, but he'll never be too tough either.

Allan overall is a good teacher to have. I had him for DMIT1001 and the material that he covered was well delivered, and he doesn't seem to be a hard marker. He does though somehow finds a minor thing to dock a mark off. He does tend to stare at the back wall a lot, but I think that has to do with him being nervous.

Best systems admin teacher I've had. I would have nominated him for the teachers excellence but they wont allow me now as they have changed the whole system. Excellent teacher , smart and a good sense of humor. Wise and respected a definite role model to me and others. Wish I had more then two classes with him but I had to change streams.

He keeps things fun and tries not to talk too long. There is such a thing as a stupid question and it's always asked by the kid who's not paying attention in class. Pay attention and ask clear questions and you'll pass. He wants you to succeed. CAUTION: He does tease and joke with students but allows students to tease and joke at him.

I had Allan for my Portfolio Development class (not a super heavy class in terms of actual teaching) but I loved his constant feedback and his want to help his students. It really seemed as though he wanted us to succeed in school and in our career afterwards which was nice to see. Would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Allan was a great teacher with a good sense of humour. He made Systems Foundations interesting. You need to go to class as your assignment are done then. You assignments are worth 70% of your final grade. He gave out extra credit assignments too to boost your grade.

Allan is a very helpful and personable instructor. I wasn't sure about him to begin with but I totally warmed up to him. He took a dull class and made it interesting, he adjusts his lectures to each individual instead of instructing solely to the class. He also adjusted some projects in order to better fit with our other classes. Can't say enough!

I took this course in September 04, he was a horrible teacher that marked students differently according to attendance and did not hesitate to fail at 59% instead of rounding up to pass at 60%. He is better than Terry Prince

Allan is not lazy and helps out where he can. He doesn't hate his students and likes to be in control. PS An irritating quality of his is to stare at the back wall whenever he should be teaching. And don't ever ask him the range of values accepted into the Integer data type.

I entered the class with foreknowledge of the subject, so I knew what to expect, but the guy pretty much dumped material on students without clarifying how it worked in the larger scheme of things. Totally agree about his labs being unclear, and measuring people by different sticks.
