Smith is extremely well-informed in the history of Can/US relations. But FYI: Everything is worth 25% (so there is no easing you in with a smaller paper before you get to the major essays.) This is also a two semester course that has no midterm but does have a cumulative final exam. Don't be afraid though! It's a good course with a helpful prof.

Everyone in the class found it painfully boring. He asks obscure questions that no one knows and waits in silence until people start randomly guessing. The class is awful, but you have to take it if you want an honours degree! He's nice though, and does have an weird attachment to turtlenecks.

One of the best classes I've ever taken. He covers tons of history in one year extremely well. He knows a ridiculous amount about can/us relations history. He wears turtlenecks daily, but in various sorts of ways!
