Dr. Frantzen is a gem!! She is one of the most compassionate and honest professors I've ever had. Yes, she is sarcastic and yes, she means business! But it's all because she has your best interest at heart. If you're ready to be challenged and become a better student/future employee because of it, take Dr. Frantzen!!

IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THIS CLASS DO NOT TAKE IT!!! I loved Dr. Frantzen. She is super funny and makes jokes, but this class is HARD! It's a super fast pace course and you will meet 5 times a week, including lab. TEST ARE ON SUNDAYS!! There's an online test on Sundays and a written test on Thursdays. I watched a lot of Khan Aca. to help me pass

Dr. Frantzen was my favorite professor. She was always available to talk in her office, even if it was just to say hi. I went to her to tell her I needed to miss her class for a family matter and she was very compassionate towards my situation. I would 100% take her again. She made class fun, be ready for funny chemistry jokes. Just go with it.

General Chem. at SFA is very very difficult. Frantzen is one of the better options to take for it, though. I would rec. getting your CHE133 credit from a community college though. Chem. at SFA takes a ton of time and dedication to get by. Be very real with yourself after that first test about whether you can make it.

She was honestly a very good professor for chem lab. She was hilarious and sarcastic. To pass lab, memorize nomenclature, sig figs, and the math involved too. Lab reports were stressful but if you incorporat everything from lab, you'll be good.

Dr. Frantzen is an amazing professor but takes her class too seriously. I had an awesome lab partner so he help me when I had trouble. This is a very time consuming class. I had to buy a lab notebook AND lab manual. SO MUCH MATERIAL. Labs every week, 3 lab reports, lab practical, nomenclature quiz, weekly quizzes in recitation, and a final exam!!

This class moves very fast! It's one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. LOTS of memorization. The lab portion is fairly easy but the tests over lecture are difficult. Half of the test is online which really helps. Make sure you're taking easy classes if you're in gen chem because it requires a lot of commitment. Frantzen is awesome though!

Ms. Frantzen was the sweetest teacher and she really cares about her students. I have so many nice things to say about her and her passion for teaching Chemistry. My one complaint is that her lectures are very dull and hard to sit through for someone who has trouble concentrating. But all in all she's a great professor!

I took her for honors Chem. and it was the hardest class I've ever taken.. She really acts like her class is the only one you are taking. However, she is really smart and funny which makes her a pretty good teacher.

Dr. Frantzen is a great professor. She has a clear grading procedure in class. FOR GOODNESS SAKE, LEARN YOUR SIG. FIGS. Also, she will be helpful with questions, but DO NOT ask her a stupid question, she will embarrass you (trust me). However, if you sees you try, she is very helpful. She is also very funny. Great professor.

I loved having her for general chemistry, she was funny and sarcastic and a great teacher. Her lectures are important to attend because she works example problems with you, which is so helpful. The most important thing to know, and I cannot stress how important this is: NOMENCLATURE. Learn it, live it, love it. It's everywhere.

Great professor! I really enjoyed her class. I had her at 9:30 in the morning, so I needed coffee to enjoy her class. The later in the semester it gets, the more interesting the class gets. She will skip slides and tell you to go read it. She is also very sarcastic and witty. Loved her class.

I LOVE Dr. Frantzen. She is the best chemistry prof I've ever had! Show up to lab and do your labs correctly and you will pass. Her TA's are all really cool. Frantzen is hilarious and sarcastic. You will love this class. The key to this class is DON'T MAKE FRANTZEN MAD and SIG FIGS!!!!

Lab is kind of intense. You have lab, pre-lab questions and assignments, post lab assignments, written reports after some labs, a quiz every week during recitation, and 2 practicals. It's a lot of work so be ready! Frantzen was a good teacher, but a tough grader so make sure you understand sig figs and nomenclature and pay close attention!

Give an additional hour and a half of studying each week and you'll get an A. Many people struggled because they were too reactive. If you stay proactive about learning the material then this class is an easy A.

I took her 133 class as an honors class. Gives lots of homework but is a very fair grader. Very sarcastic and funny but can come off as mean if you're not used to it. She's very clear in her instructions and explains material thoroughly.

She talks loud. She unnecessarily emphasizes words. She is a really tough grader and will show no mercy. She's also the type to say, "What did I say to do in recitation?" when you ask her a question. Know Significant figures by heart!!!

the tests and class are super difficult but it's chem. if you do all the bookwork she assigns and study and actually try you should be fine. Very willing to help if you show her you are putting in effort and show up to office hours. She genuinely cares about seeing her students succeed. I would definitely take her again!
