Comment:
Prof Perez-Leroux was fantastic--her lectures are well-organized, valuable, and involving, and she provides notes. In-class practicals were exciting and a fun way to learn. The research essay was a great opportunity. Most of all, she is a wonderful person, genuinely cares about students and teaching, and is always happy to help--in OH's/after class.

She holds a lot of contempt for students who do not have a more than basic understanding of advanced grammar. Thinks very highly of herself and never misses a chance to show off and / or talk about her credentials and professional experiences in the field of Spanish. Very high maintenance, extremely high expectations of everyone. Perfectionist.

This woman is an absolute nightmare to deal with. As director of a department, she has very little knowledge about the program and streams. It seemed that any warranted inquiry was a bother to her, she was very rude, and abruptly ended all communication. She harshly reiterated her position as a professor, and did not feel such was acknowledged.

Do yourself a favour and AVOID this professor. Her tests cover way too much material that you won't prepared for, lecture notes are disorganized and confusing, and lectures themselves are not helpful at all. She doesn't know how to teach and made me hate the subject altogether.

Worst Professor I have ever encountered at Uoft. I would NEVER take a course with this professor ever again. She was very mean and highly disorganized. Her lectures made no sense and she would get easily angered when someone didn't understand. She is very unhelpful and condescending. Honestly the worst Professor I have encountered by far. Stay away

The course was very boring as the professor jumped all over the place and often showed movies for the last half of class. The class was pretty easy though with self study you can do well in the course without attending class.

Incapable of asking a question clearly in class and on assignments/tests. Responses to questions posed by students are indirect and unclear. Loses student materials. Disorganized. Slides full of typos and grammatical errors. Adds additional assignments midway through the course. Course content/textbook is fascinating - wait for a different prof.

I didn't feel like I learned very much. A bell curve of 30% just shows she doesn't know how to write tests. Ridiculously hard tests and assignments, lazy teaching style. AVOID.

She's a good prof, at first her lectures might seem confusing but as long as you have a supportive material you´ll be fine, she expands your horizons and understanding of the subject. Besides she's so educated and has a lot of experience, really helpful, even though not an easy prof you have to work hard to achieve your grade I got an A .

Professor Perez Leroux is also the undergrad spanish chair - she helped me with a grade change this year and was so understanding and helpful. I heard results within two weeks and the process was much less painful than I ever thought it could be. She is to be commended for her efficient work.

Avoid this woman at all costs. She is boring, incomprehensible and runs over time despite having 3 hour lectures. Her assignments are vague and asking her questions will just confuse you even more. She is condescending and the class average for our last test was so low it had to be bell curved 20%. AVOID.
