Andrea Brown is an awesome professor, seriously. I took PO317 with her and she KNEW HER STUFF. I pulled an A and was super happy with how much I was able to learn. I honestly wish the school taught more area-credit courses.

Professor Brown is a nice person, but not the best professor. Honestly, I'm not sure how much of the material in the class she actually knows. The majority of the time she was either showing videos in class, or having groups present. When she did lecture it came straight from the online readings (which we were marked on, but not by her!)

Dr. Brown knows her material. She is a tough marker - her assignments are not to be done the night before! Overall, if you do the readings and really pay attention to what she says in class, you will do okay. I think she very, very rarely awards A's. If she continues to teach PO319, it is not a course to take and never try (aka. not a bird course.)

I am sure that Dr. Brown is a good person, judging on her experience and other work outside of the University; however, I do not find her to be a good professor. She does not explain her assignments, nor expectations, and when you go to her office hours for reassurance she will simply tell you to read the outline. Terrible Academic Advisor!

This class was completely different than I expected 478 to be. Dr. Brown is a very nice lady and helpful. DO ALL THE READINGS. She marks fairly and is willing to help. Only negative feedback I have is that for assignments she never explains what she wants- so I recommend going to her office hours and she will help you.

Very poor teacher. Gives midterms on trivial topics from the readings that have nothing to do with the material in class . Responds to e-mails at her own leisure. Uninteresting lectures and poor guidelines on everything we've done in that class. Truthfully it's too bad cause the course could be interesting but has become annoying and unbearable

Dr. Brown has a very slow turn around rate for papers and has taken over a month to mark an essay. She also forgot what time class started and as a result missed our in class exam on the last day of classes. She then sent out an email saying "I blew it" as an explanation. She is not organized and is an overall frustrating professor.

Really nice prof. Writes awesome exams that you can actually prepare for. But she's boring as hell, and never seems to know what she's actually talking about.

Dr Brown is a bit of a space cadet and a ditz. Although well respected by the academic staff at our Uni-- she is a tool-- she incorrectly provided information and blatantly lied to our class thinking no one would know any better-- Just so u know Brown-- Thabo Mbeki is still pres of South Africa... glad she isn't teaching African politics!

Lots of information but she's a pretty easy marker. Lots of choice on exams that are mostly ID and explain significant terms. Good class

Wonderful professor - I learned a lot in this course and became very interested in the material. It made me realize how important it is to have an understanding from a different perspective and gave me the chance to step outside the "Western world" for a change.

Great class. Loves class participation so if you do the readings before class you are set to get an A. Ive had her twice and loved both classes. Highly recommended.

Great teacher, no runaround or BS. Feminist politics is a good 3rd year course. It's inspiring (and I'm a guy) and pretty straight-foreward. You can get an A if you work and show interest.
