Comment:

Very passionate about her work but her ideas are all over the place. Doesn't appreciate work done throughout the term if you don't succeed on the final assignment. This is my major and I failed her class because of this. She is an extremely hard marker and expectations are unclear; not a very nice person to be around.

Andrea is a very nice lady. Lots of readings though and she likes things done a specific way. You have to work for your marks on papers. She gives many chances to improve your paper writing. Class can be boring at times, especially if not everyone is familiar with the material. If you show up there is a participation mark. Read! And talk in class!

such an unnecessarily difficult marker! makes what should be an enjoyable class an awful class. just marks so tough for no reason. i cant stress that enough. only values her own opinion. strange topics discussed. im disappointed. this class could have been way better. also the exam was just terrible.

She's a tough marker for sure. She also does not seem to value any opinion other than her own. She creates small, pretty meaningless assignments that do nothing to improve your understanding but will drag down your grade. I will avoid her as much as possible. I am not a C student and her make-work bothers me.

Andrea was eccentric for sure. Spent most classes analyzing the works we had to read as homework. Hard marker on essays, really have to work for it. Wasn't friendly or particularly engaging, didn't look forward to class at all. Pick someone else for intro English is my advice.

This is the hardest class I have taken.... and I am a biology major!! Hardest marker I have ever met. I worked a month and a half on the first paper and she almost failed me... not fair at all. Take someone else for first year English, you will regret it if you stay in this course. This made my GPA go down a lot.

Terrible prof. She herself was boring and marked off points on papers if you did not write about her opinion. She over analysed every reading, taking nearly 2 full classes to discuss a 2 page poem. At the end of the year when I emailed her about a missing mark, she called me email "useless commentary" and was nothing but snarky to me.

Good class if your interested in improving your essay writing skills- Andrea allows you to work through an essay step-by-step and provides you with imput along the way. Getting a high mark on an essay will prove to be a challenge- but Andrea really helps you with the essay writing process. We read a lot of short stories and poetry as well..

Word of advice: In your children's lit class with her go out and talk to some kids about the books you are reading. Then do a presentation on the reactions to one of the books by the kids. She will love you. She marks kind of hard, but if you go to class regularily and do the readings it isn't a brutal course.

Andrea doesn't listen fairly to student comments, is too vague and not clear in assignments/grades. She clearly stated at the beginning of this course that there was not much room for sociology in this course while meanwhile all we talk about is female stereotypes, culture issues, etc. The classes are genearlly boring, long, and repetitive.

Andrea's awesome. She's challenging, yes, but that's what university is all about. If you take her class, expect a lot of work. If you work hard and do all the readings, you'll get a good mark. If you don't, you won't. Simple as that.
