DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This professor is extremely bad at teaching materials. His TA's are not helpful at all. His latte page is a mess. He does not know anything about layout and design and he is just going to throw everything on that page.

I love Philosophy, and Teuber has the sort of "teaching style" that gives the discipline a bad name. He's passive and boring. He doesn't communicate with students, and after the class was over, out of the 4 papers I wrote, only 1 of them and only 2 received any feedback. What an annoying class. Easy A if you write what he wants to hear!

Teuber checked out a long time ago. He's a great guy to get to know personally, but he's not a good teacher. I don't know if he ever has been. He mostly lets students talk during class, where he doesn't lecture so much as "hang out." About the essays: writing ability is irrelevant. You need to say something he wants to hear if you want a good grade

Basically, if you want a free A, take a class from Professor Teuber. If you want to learn something about philosophy, take a different class (from literally anyone else).

He teaches at a slow pace and inspires us to think about questions. Maybe I am just not used to it.

It's not much about the class, but it's about the professor himself. He is absolutely intellectual and hilarious. I personally don't find the lectures to be helpful; however, the reading materials are so so so mind-blowing. His class definitely improves my thinking ability. Highly recommend.

Andreas's teaching style is to ramble incoherently into a microphone, while reminding his students that his dissertation advisers at Harvard were John Rawls and Robert "Bob" Nozick on a daily basis (as if compensating). The fact that this man has a PhD in anything, let alone philosophy, can only be explained by a clerical error

This man is THE reason that philosophy has a bad reputation. He struggles with discussing the readings, preferring to stand with his back to the class, reading verbatim off of a massive PP on a projector. The poor TAs are the ones who do the actual grading. He mistakenly thinks that his high enrollment numbers indicate that he is "saving" the dept

I think Teuber is really bad at giving lectures. I learned most of the material from the readings and TAs stuff that I did outside the lectures. They were super boring. Most intro classes are boring but this was worse. However, I'd rather take intro with him than with anyone else in his department.

Teuber is a nice guy, and he likes philosophy, but his class one of the worst I have taken at Brandeis. There are no required readings, so you can get an A handed to you without doing any work which is cool if you dont want a real class, but if you are in college to learn and you want to be exposed to philosophy this is just too basic.

Andreas isa very inspirational professor. Nice guy and hilarious. Love all the cartoons he used in syllabus and assignments. I did see his intention to get students know things about philosophy and he did try hard to make philosophy interesting. Although his lectures were not very well organized, you still can get something.

Great class in Intro to Philosophy. Useful PowerPoints and interesting lectures. I found the paper readings and topics usefully difficult--they really made you think. He lives for his students and for Philosophy. Wants very much for each students to "get it," to get whatever they can out of the coursework and interactions with him and the TAs.

I went in to his office hour to talk about my paper. It ended with him telling me he can bench press 190 lbs. Also, dude loves birthdays. Make sure you tell him it's your birthday.
