Comment:

Prof Higgins is one of those rare professors that inspires. He is an interesting and endearing man, and has a rock-star status amongst the mecheng students at McGill. I highly recommend attending his lectures, if nothing else because it is enjoyable to listen to him.

One of the few truly great profs of McGill mech eng! One of the lessons Ive learned in my degree is that you take the professor, not the class. Professor Higgins won't disappoint. He's very funny too!

Had him for Fluids 2 and Thermo 2, have to say he is easily the best teacher I've ever had at McGill. He made fluids very easy while thermo was more average in difficulty, most importantly he made me want to attend classes, which is a rare feeling indeed. Practice speed before tests and you'll do great.

Excellent prof; explains very well. However, exams are very long, tedious and involve a lot of calculations. You need to expect every question of the exam prior to it if you want to do well: you have no time to think if you're unfamiliar with something. PRACTICE WITH PAST FINALS BEFORE THE FINAL.

Definitely one of the handful of great teachers in the Mechanical Engineering faculty. He knows his stuff, but more importantly is able to CONVEY what he knows in a clear and interesting way. He's also very fair and isn't out to fail people. He genuinely wants you to leave the course having learned something. Other profs take lessons from him.

Took combustion with him. He's a cool guy, who has a knack for intuitive explanations. Can be a little weird at times dealing in person, but that's a minor quirk. And yes, he does walk like a duck! And no, his gait did not prevent him from winning the teacher of the year award!
