Points are limited in this class so it wise to attend all lectures. His lecture is very informative and it's best to record them and write down anything that you can. The class if base off of 6 quizzes and 2 exams and extra credit. If you pay close enough attention don't need books. Overall interesting course and helpful instructor.

One of the nicest guys I have ever met. Gives you quiz and exam outlines weeks in advance so you can plan them out. As long as you go over notes and class examples in your writings it's pretty much an A. He's pretty lenient as long as you are in the ballpark. Nice guy, low stress class.

Dr. Kelley is a good professor and his lectures are easy to follow. Take notes on his examples and what topic they are related to. This class is only based on a couple exams and quizzes so studying is a must. He does not give out extra credit so pay attention and take detailed notes.

Kelly is an amazing lecturer. You can definitely tell he cares about his students and wants the best for them. That being said, this class isn't easy. You have to attend lectures to do well, which isn't really problem because they are interesting. This class makes you think and rethink about your own life and the way you live it. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kelley is so great! I would recommend him to anyone. I learned so much from this Ethics class from Dr. Kelley. I would come to class just to listen to him talk. He's a genius, and a very sweet person. He really cares about his students. He isn't an easy grader, but only because he wants you to learn.

This is truly what professors all need to be like. He listens to all points of views, makes the material interesting, and challenges you without wanting to see you struggle or fail. I took Ethics with him. He also lent me logic books to help me study for the LSAT and offered to help me during break. Truly remarkable, and very intelligent. READ.

If you can take this class with another teacher, do it! He lectures with Dannehl for this class. You show up, you listen/take notes and then you leave. There will be 15-20 pages worth of notes, yet the tests are only 20 multiple choice q's and 2 essay questions. They are so hard! There are other Civ classes that use open note tests, take them.

Exceptional Professor! Student friendly, will take after class time to work with his students. He took a boring subject and made it very interesting. Upbeat personality, class was fun and interactive. Take this class! Note: must be an essay type of student, questions are straight forward. Weekly quizes, take notes from and answer overhead points.

I really like Dr. Kelley. He is a very personable and it is an enjoyable class. He is very fair and easy to understand--never wants to offend anyone. He's willing to help in just about any situation. A class you need to take good notes in. Tests and quizzes are short answer and essay based and everything is based off notes.

If you budget your time, take good notes, and study this class shouldn't be a problem. Tests are lecture based. Grading is made up of 4 tests with your lowest one dropped, so if you do well on the first 3 you don't have to take the final. I enjoyed this class a lot! Very fair professor. If you put in effort, you will learn a lot.

Great prof and nice guy. I took this as a gen ed with absolutely no interest in philosophy and i enjoyed his class. He is very fair and understanding and is willing to work with you if you don't like to participate in class. His teaching style makes you think, but he is very clear in his lectures. Most assignments can be done with just your notes.

Going to class is a MUST. It's not required, but if you want the A, just go and pay attention, almost all quiz and test material was discussed, so if you go, you're that much closer to the A. Got a B b/c I stopped going b/c it was so easy. Thus I slipped from my mid-term A to a B. Simple as that.

I thought that philosophy would be boring and uninteresting, but Dr. Kelley made it the exact opposite. Just take detailed notes and review them the night before and you'll do fine. Ask questions and he will take all the time necessary to help you understand.

Let me see...It was a collabo with Prof Dannehl and yeah he(Kelley) does tend to rant and ramble, but I really enjoyed the class cos it was very enlightening. It's basically history focusing on the general line of thinking of diferent eras (just so you know what to expect). The fact that it's a 9 o'clock class gives a boring effect though.

The final is really hard and nothing from the book or notes have helped. The rest of the year has been okay, but never easy.
