Love taking Dr. Nurse's classes he is very approachable and will joke around with once he gets to know you. Only downfall is if he gives you hand written feedback, you may not be able to read well off the first time and take your time reading his feedback. Will definitely be taking more of his classes.

Dr. Nurse is funny, kind, caring, and an overall great teacher. Easily one of my favorite professors at this school. Lectures can be a little dry, but you will regret it if you do not attend them, as they will help you immensely with the midterm and exam. A great course to take!

Dr. Nurse.... I found that funny for some reason. What can I say about a professor that mentions Rush in a class... It was awesome.

I've taken a number of Nurse's classes, all of which have been excellent experiences. The man knows his stuff and teaches it well. He is there for students and wants to see them be successful. If you have the chance to take one of his classes - do it.

Without question the finest instructor I have ever had (and I have had a lot). I took his class as a distribution and ended up not only majoring in Canadian Studies but pursuing a Masters degree in it. All because of Nurse. Hyper-intelligent but not obnoxiously over-intellectual. Kind, fair, charismatic, open-minded. The man chanced my life.

I actually go out of my way to take classes with Dr. Nurse. While his lectures can get a bit dry, his teaching style is super effective. He is really invested in his students and makes sure they are getting the most out of the class and all their classes, really. Really good at giving advice.

Great at explaining things, and very enthusiastic about material. My only complaints are that assignment marking is inconsistent (not really his fault - he only marks his own tutorial group) and that you can't do well on tests without being as passionate about politics as he is. Some might see that as good, but it really isn't when you're a BSc.

Dr. Nurse encourages his students to come to him during his office hours. He recommends studying in groups for the exams; I followed his advice and found it to be a very effective way to study for CANA 2001 exams. If you seek to throw yourself into the course, and work hard at it, he will help and work with you.

Though his anecodtoes can be a bit on the boring side he is a well-meaning individual. Marks at random and isn't terribly clear on what he wants from you, but that's likely the fault of the other professors in the course, and out of his hands. On the bright side of things, if you ask questions he will answer, and is generally helpful when doing so.

Even better the second time around. Nurse is fun, approachable, and will get you laughing in class no matter what! Made getting up at 8:00 on Thursdays worth it. Most of the lectures are done by another prof in this course, but make sure you get into his tutorial section because he does all your marking and is way more lenient than the other two.

Great prof, sometimes gets dull but, then he starts on a story or his opinion and the whole class is interested and laughing. I could spend hours just listening to his opinion. The class is easy too, all you have to do is go to the lectures and tutorials, do the work and you will pass no problem. Nurse loves teaching and his course, very helpful!

Is a great guy, and is extremely helpful outside of class. He loves his material, students, and teaching in general. I had a family emergency the semester I took his class and he was awesome in terms of getting assignments moved around, etc. He has some great stories from his many years here. Helped this American understand Canada a lot better. :D.
