Snark is his first born language. He has a sick sense of dry humor and lack of mercy on students. He picks his favorites early on. He is a tough grader and kills you with footnotes. He claims they must be done correctly and refers you to the librarian, but after you finish according to what is correct (by the lib) he marks you down letter grades.

Comment:

Oros is an excellent professor. However, be prepared to do the work, and certainly don't take his class expecting an easy A. His standards are quite exacting, but that is exactly what I desire from a rigorous, liberal arts education. I found him to be very approachable and friendly.

He loves it when people come to his office hours. Go to him for help with your essay, correctly use Chicago style and give a thoughtful response at least once during class and you'll do well. He has high standards, but he really loves seeing people become passionate about an area in poly sci.
