What I don't get is instead of giving tests that are impossible and then making up for it with extra credit (AGO, Clicker points, adding points to tests) maybe he should have taught us/made the tests easier. I walked away with an A but fell like I've learned nothing.

TORTURE! worst professor i have ever had. you are forced to go because attendance is equal to a test, he will call you out if you talk or try to leave early and you have to sit in the first three rows if you are going to use a computer. on top of that he only talks about relevant info for about 5% of the 90 min sessions, the rest is unrelated BS.

This class is perfect if ur looking for an easy elective or major requirement! Chapter quiz once a week, all answers online. 5 discussion questions over semester, and 4 tests. Tests aren't always a breeze but you have all the resources in front of you. Overall, not a time consuming class and lets you spend time on more challenging courses.

Took online version. He's not helpful but it's easy.I would buy the book but you don't need to read it at all. It's helpful to keep on hand for exams. The HW quizzes all of the answers are online. The "discussions" are do-able, go back to his video lecture, they're helpful. If you never study, you can still get an A. Better than lecture version.

What an awful professor. I was really interested in the material prior to the course but he conveyed all of it in such a boring and meaningless way. Not receptive to questions at all. However, he is an easy grader and if you try a little bit it should be an easy A and there is not really any work involved with the class which I appreciated.

Worst teacher I have ever had in my three years at Binghamton. He couldn't care less about his students and laughs at people who are having iClicker problems or have question. Stares at people leaving and calls people out frequently. Extremely inconsiderate and rude. The class itself isn't impossible, but it's definitely not an easy A. Do the AGO.

For those who approach this class with an entitled attitude thinking of getting an "A", get off your high horse. This generally seems to be the mentality here. The work is demanding, however, if you utilize all of the resources, this class is certainly passable. Mr. Telesca is a very fair man. He gives ample opportunity for everyone to pass.

Very boring class. Word of advice: do the AGO because you will do bad on at least 1 exam. put your notes on the index card. no need for the book. he adds 10 points to your test grades at the end of the semester! easy class but you will fall asleep during lecture. gotta force yourself to go for the notes.

Lectures are REALLY boring but i forced myself to go to get the attendance/clicker points. The only chapter i read in the book was the sun chapter. Put all my class notes on the index card for each test. Also did the AGO; it's an easy 100pts. Final is optional. You won't need it unless you screw up big time. *need to take 3 exams for AGO to count!

If you go to class, take notes, and make quality note cards, (he lets us use 4x6 note cards front and back on tests) there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. he offers one optional online test that is impossible to get less than an A on, and he drops your worst test grade and the final is optional.

By far the worst professor I have had in my three years of attending college. He is extremely monotone and very inconsiderate. He goes off on tangents and worries about the most irrelevant things. His tests are designed to trick you. My class averages for the tests all semester were in the 60's. Doesn't that tell you something Telesca?

He's boring, his tests are tricky and he rambles on forever. If you pay attention and go to class and take notes you can easily pull of an A or A-. Do the AGO or you're a fool; it's free points.

Boring, arrogant, tries to trick you on tests. Treats the people in class like middle school students. At least 10 minutes of class a day is spent on lecturing students about talking during class. He gives you three options. And embarrasses students on purpose.

Personally, I liked the class. For all the haters out there if you would not spend so much time texting, goofing around on laptops, etc. during the class and actually DO THE READING and PAY ATTENTION and not be so rude to the professor, perhaps he would not be so unwilling to help at times. If you want an intro to Astronomy, take the class.

Professor Telesca is abrasive, monotonous and has the personality of the large rock. Not only are his tests designed undoubtedly to trick students, he is impossible to reason with. Somehow my AGO was messed up and he wouldn't work with me one bit to try and fix the problem. Not to mention he's one Big Mac away from a heart attack.

This is one of my hardest classes, he treats the 100 level astronomy class like a n upper level astrophysics class. The questions on the tests are impossible unless you memorize everything he says in class. I regret taking this class, and I learned absolutely nothing, I got a B+ with studying and outline chapters. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

This guy is the most boring and horrible teacher i have ever taken. The guys class is so horrible that he knows the only way for people to show is to have mandatory classes. Also he gets so pissy during class and gets annoying as hell about talking in class.. which u will do because hes class is so bad

Ridiculously boring. Exams are purposefully tricky and since there are only 30 questions, every question is worth a lot. Easy A if you pay attention, go to class, and do the AGO. Don't need the textbook at all. If you're interested in astronomy, you will be less interested after this class.

This class is so unbelievably boring. It's not as easy as you would think. The tests can be confusing but with the Extra Credit assignment it will balance out your grade. It's an easy B if you do the work, but its so boring.

This is the easiest class I took so far, all you have to do is attend 10/12 lab classes. Preus is never really there- the TA runs the class, but all you do is sit at the computer with your textbook and answer lab questions. It is really simple as long as you follow the directions, it is more of a self-run class. You need to stay the whole time.
