Andrew's lectures are packed with info and easy to take notes from however, he is very VERY monotonous and boring. Literally he might put you to sleep. Very hard marker, feedback is given in illegible writing. Seminar attendance is mandatory and he gives you a mark based on your level of participation not simply for just attending.

pretty good prof. tries to keep the lecture out of the boring range with jokes. his course outlines are good. simple. i would recommend taking a lower level class with him first, he has the same marking standard for all of them. have to attend his seminars!! very strict on that! i would recommend him!

Contrary to prior warnings I found his lectures both interesting and engaging. His lectures have continuity and flow. He has great dry humor, yet there can be periods of social awkwardness. Nonetheless, this would not deter me from taking further classes, and I hold him with the highest regard.

He doesnt show much enthusiasm. But sometimes he'll surprise you with a witty or deadpan joke. He seems to like questions and participation. Just make sure that you know the book really well, cuz he doesnt go into a lot of detail in the lectures.

Andrew is a terrific prof! I have taken him for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year history classes, and have enjoyed all of them. He is a fair marker, just make sure you do your seminar readings!
