DB is a very talented choir director, in fact she won the ACDA Choir Director of the year so obviously she is doing a lot of things right. She also really cares about her students not just as singers but as people. She also handles pressure better than anyone I know which is admirable.

DB really cares about everyone in her choir. She is really good at what she does because she has amazing choirs. She is so easy to talk to and pushes you to be your best. I would highly recommend her as a Prof.

Dr. Broeker has had a major impact on my time here at UST. She is very easy to talk to and acts like a second mom to all of her students! I love having her as a choir director and have definitely grown in my musical abilities since having her. I would highly recommend!

She is very concerned technique. Unlike most choir dirctors she doesn't really care about what your year is. If you're a good singer (freshman or not) you can get a solo. Its a real community. I was in concert choir.

She is the most inspirational person I have met in my time at St. Thomas. She knows everyone's voice so well that she knows who's absent by just listening to warm-ups. She cares about your story and forming a community for everyone. She helps you thrive as a young adult/professional by becoming a better musician and I am forever grateful.

Dr Broeker makes it a priority to know who you are, and where you come from. Very easy to get along with, and never embarrassed to be herself. Also very successful, by the way... I would consider her more of a friend than I would a professor. She is always supportive, and involved in the lives of her students both inside and outside the classroom.

I've had Dr. Broeker for choir for many years now and she's a great director, but tends to favor different choirs over others. Sometimes events are added to the calendar/syllabus that really conflict with my school schedule repeatedly which is beyond frustrating, and you have to attend basically everything or else you can fail.

Dr. Broeker is very caring and an incredibly intelligent professor. Some people call her a diva, but really what choir director isn't a diva? She knows every one of her students names, invites you to lunch to get to know her better, and truly wants nothing but the best for everyone in her community. It is a very great community to be in.

She is awesome! I've been in the concert choir for 3 years, and never had had a better director. She presents you with challenging work, and expects you to learn your part. If you attend class regularly, know the music and show up to each concert, you will get an A.
