(Berkeley, CA) Lectures are very important, if you miss be sure to get the information covered that day. Readings are not always necessary b/c she covers the material in class the majority of the time. The reviews for the test were helpful guidelines and overall the class was interesting.

This class was fascinating. I really enjoyed Prof. Burlein's style and reading choices. She sometimes fields too many question - causing her to stray from the topic, but it's quite infrequent. She really knows her stuff. Overall, I really enjoyed her class. It's a lot of time, but definitely worthwhile.

She taught at a very simiple, basic level and repeated everything she taught at least five times. It was frankly demeaning, she was at times condescending, and she really underestimated her students. It was a waste of my time.

It might just be me, but I found Professor Burlein to be extremely confusing. Also, I had been sick and tried to reach out to her for help but I just received sarcastic and demeaning emails. She made no attempt to help me when I approached her so I dropped her class.

VERY nice and easy to understand if you go to class. Lots of work and essays. Tests are extremely hard, but she's EXTREMELY willing to help until you understand the material. Class is DEFINATELY worth taking.

In my opinion, the best Religious Studies teacher at UNCC. She's very interesting, and she explains the material very clearly. Warning: you will need to attend the classes in order to understand the material; otherwise, this can be a difficult class.
