Comment:

This class was personally a breeze. If you understand how to follow directions on homework you can easily get a great grade. My section was a synthesis class, so there wasn't as many actual class meetings and there was about 5 hours of work outside of the class. Her lectures were very interesting and her tangents were always nonsensical, but cool.

Professor Riley communicates with you on a real level and it does not matter to her if you agree or disagree with her. She just wants to know that you are thinking about what is going on around us to be able to try and impact your life and thinking. She is super hilarious and works with you to get the best grade you can.

This is definitely 1 of those classes you take because you have to for credits. I'm a liberal myself but this lady is so incredibly far to the left that I considered voting for Donald Trump... whom she mentioned pretty much everyday in anti-republican rhetoric.

If you're a White Male taking this class... well good luck, you'll be blamed for all of America's wrong doings. She also forces students to conduct protests even if its for causes they don't agree with. If you didn't protest you got docked down points.

Professor Riley is outstanding! She cares so much about her students and wants them all to pass. Its tough in the beginning but once you get passed the first 3 weeks its easy the rest of the way. Plus, she is very lenient with her assignments.

She is very helpful, always willing to help and listen. Sometimes she can get across a little rough, for students who have not seen real life mostly do not like her because she is very realistic, clear and honest. You will be fine as long as do the homework, attend class and participate. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HER! otherwise she will not help u.

She's contradicting, unorganized, and she's very judgmental. This women should not be teaching, the only reason why i learned ANYTHING is because she makes you read "A people's history" by Howard Zinn which is a great book. Anyways, the class is only 100 points so dont miss anything. If you do she allows make-ups but they have to be 3x longer.

Ann has definitely been one of the more memorable teachers from CSUMB! She tells it like it is, her history classes aren't the watered down and "hoorah USA!" versions we're used to getting. As long as you do the work, you'll be fine!

Classes 4 hours a day of hearing how white males deserve nothing, spaced out with over-analyzing movies that have nothing to do with US history (American Beauty). She then MADE everyone go protest Wal-Mart just for the sake of it. Avoid this class, it's not worth getting two undergrad requirements done at once, unless you're a diehard liberal.

Great professor! She gave a ton of essays, but you can do make-ups. She gives her opinion a lot, but she's extremely educated. Her opinion encompasses most of the opressed peoples of America, ie: females. A lot of people didn't like her class because they didn't like hearing their ancesters' bad decisions thrown back in their face. TAKE THE CLASS!

Very interesting class. However, the professor is a Mexican, Feminist, Socialist who blames whites and males for all the ills of society. She will not pass you if your beliefs differ from her own, this is coming from a kid who got an +A. The good news is she allows you to do makeups..which you will need because she is unclear on all her assignments

VIVA LA REVOLUTION! Seriously guys.. She teaches the "REAL" history. I'm sorry but if your a spoiled white kid, it might be a shock to you that European settlers are responsible for the genocide of the Native Americans, and the enterprise of African Slavery.
