Great professor! She's hilarious because she acts mean, but you can tell she's kidding. Very straightforward and knows how to teach. Only 2 assignments, mainly in-class drawings. Attendance is mandatory. Cool class, would highly recommend.

She is not for the weak at heart. What at first comes across as mean and uncaring, quickly becomes the most real education you can get. The principles she teaches are found throughout life. More than just an art professor. She's a life professor if you're willing to learn.

Had her for lower and higher division classes. Phong is nice and funny, but she is very straight forward when critisizing your work. She grades tougher on the foundation classes. However, as long as she recognises your talent, she will grade you easier and will expect more creativities.

Phong is a great/funny/knowledgeable teacher. But she is very tough though, she tough because she wants the best out of you. Very specific in want she wants. VERY INTENSE so be prepare. And make sure to do redo project bc she will go a sight easy on you the next time around. NOT RECOMMENDED to take 2 of her class in the same quarter.

She's so ferosh. You gotta get along with from the fierce beginning if you want her to come to YOU to help. Her class is pretty intense... you always have to make good time to do her projects to get an A. Follow ALL directions 'cause she knows what she's looking for. If you do a good job on your first design project then you're off to a fab start

she's the best art teacher i've had so far. yes, she's strict and picky, but only becuz she wants u to do well in the future. she's so funny, very humorous, always cracks up in her class. but lazy ppl shouldn't want to take her class. bcuz lots of work n have to keep everything VERY CLEAN! but i still love her~ the whips hurts, but made me learn.

Awesome teacher - wicked sense of humor, harsh yet friendly, brutally honest, her lectures are pretty easy to understand, and if some of your best work does not come out in her classes, then you are not worthy of being a Graphic Design/ Art Major! It's kind of hard to believe she was a former student of Fears... it's like Phong learned everything NOT to do as a professor and then flipped it... heh well at least Fears was good for SOMETHING...

Very difficult and picky teacher. If you don't match her style, it's hard to do well and she doesn't do a good job of explaining what that is either. She plays favorites. If she doesn't like you, she doesn't care about you. I came out knowing only what I wasn't good at, and not what I was good at. Taking another teacher now, she's much better.

She's very picky about what she wants, and is more critical than complimentary. If she doesn't like your style of art it's very difficult to pass. If you have trouble with perfect details painting or drawing and you smudge often, you will not do well.
