I came to Umaine because I was interested in the dance minor program.I have been dancing for a very long time and have studied modern dance for some years now.Coming here I thought I would learn something, but the intermediate modern dance IS A JOKE. Seriously isn't even modern. Random music, no counts, just a mess.Haven't learned anything either.

Ann is a fantastic teacher. She's always in a great mood and the class goes by so fast every time. She brings lots of different music to class and the choreography is always different each time which keeps it fresh. I wouldn't take this class from any other teacher!!

Ann's dance classes are seriously a joke. She has her PhD in dance... but why? She's fun and you'll get an automatic A, but you don't learn anything and you will NOT grow from taking this class. You don't have to show up, and still get a great grade. She is the nicest lady ever, but if you want to learn technique and expand as a dancer DO NOT TAKE.

Tailored the course to girls who have been dancing since they were 3 y.o. If you do not have a dance background--good luck!! For an introductory dance class, she had little patience for the inexperienced. Also, she is not above insulting her students.

Ann's just so fun. All that's expected is that you come, give your best, and do a little number for the final. She also gives all sorts of cool massaging, stretching, and other health related techniques now and then, which are helpful and often relaxing, and even though she's not as young as she used to be, she still knows how to move.
