It can be intimidating when your whole grade consists of two midterms 25% each; a 7 page paper 20%; and a final 30%. ATTEND ALL LECTURES. Her test questions come straight from her lectures. There are no slides or online notes, so make sure you are taking detailed notes in class. She is a lovely person and is willing to meet outside of class to help

Lecture heavy with 3 midterms and a few quizzes. One research paper and a cumulative final. You have to listen to her lectures to pass her exams. Exams one question on the time period, title of piece, two NOT true questions. Great person overall and passionate about art. If you cant watch the history channel you will fall asleep in this class.

I was skeptical about taking a MWF class but he lecture style and enthusiasm made up for all the heavy material. She answers all questions, willing to meet with students outside of class for help, and fair with grading. The material for the tests come from her lectures. 30 Multiple choice and two short essays are her format, and one research paper.

All content is clearly stated in the syllabus, and she follows it daily. Exams questions are multiple choice, but very specific. My advice is to record the lectures and listen to them more than once. Pay attention to small details. She is nice and considerate. She encourages you to visit during office hours and introduce yourself. Thorough teacher.

Really straightforward class, she puts literally everything in the syllabus and follows it. Nothing is online, so you have to go to class, but lectures are interesting and she's funny and sweet. 4 quizzes, 3 exams, and a paper. Not too hard if you take the time to show up to class and study for exams.

Straightforward class as long as you show up and take notes. She's really helpful and approachable and wants students to succeed. She'll help you on the essay assignment if you ask. Talk to her if you're struggling, she will take improvement on midterms into account when it comes to the final grade. She's funny in lecture and is super sweet.

Attendance isn't taken but if you skip class you won't do well on the quizzes and exams. She made the class worthwhile though, especially for a morning class. She's really nice and easily accessible if you have questions on exams or the one research paper. Pretty easy GE if you show up and take notes.

I looooove Dr. Woods! She's so smart and sweet and caring! Her class is always interesting even at 9am lol. She's always doing her best to make lectures clear and understandable. She's super approachable. Always there to help you. And offers a paper at the end to help boost your grade. AMAZING love her!

ART258 was great, I normally hate history but Art History was actually interesting with Woods. Either buy the book and skip lectures or vice versa. Although, the class was harder than I expected, especially for a GE. All of your grade relies on quizzes and midterms, which means you have to do well on them. There's one paper, which was super easy.

Not a morning person but she made a MWF 8 am interesting. She's very clear about the subject material and if you go to her office hours she's amazing and will do her best to help you up your grade. Consists of 3 quizzes, 3 midterms, and one essay. If you don't attend class you WILL fail the tests. Will definitely be taking her for upper division.

Dr. Woods is an absolutely amazing lecturer. I took her History of Architecture class and she was always on point. I dread 9 am classes but I always looked forward to her lectures. She's funny sometimes and the textbook is not required (though she says it is). If you show up to the lectures and take notes, you'll do fine on the tests. Super easy.

I had Woods for an 8 am class and it was hard to wake up, but she was pretty interesting. Study the exact pictures she shows and take good notes and you'll be fine. The textbook isn't really needed too much because they're mostly lecture based. It's an easy class and she's very helpful. It's not hard to get an A.

Fantastic class and professor! She gives you tons of information, which is great if you are interested. That being said, you don't need ALL of that information for the three exams, which are fairly easy. MC + 2 essays each, and she gives you the prompts ahead of time. The class is very well organized and sticks to the syllabus. Paper is not bad.

I'm not an Art major, I took her for Art258 for GE and took her again for Art568 just because I enjoyed her class. She knows her stuff and makes class interesting, especially if you're already into the topics. No attendance but tests are based off lectures. 3 midterms and 1 paper. Easy stuff.

I've taken multiple classes of hers and I love her. She is so helpful when you go to her office hours and really does want you to succeed. For 371, I bought the book but didn't find it helpful at all while studying or writing the one paper assignment. Test are based off her lectures, so going to class is crucial. Not the hardest class

I absolutely loved this professor. She was really clear and her lectures were always very interesting. She doesn't take attendance, but it's mandatory to attend anyway since you need to take good notes. I passed, but I would have gotten a higher grade if I had studied more. It's an 8 a.m. class, but I still recommend taking it!!

She is incredibly sweet and extremely passionate about the subject even though its a basic course. Midterm and final had same format and there were no tricks, she was extremely straightforward about what would be on the test. Going to lecture is a must though but she makes it entertaining. Textbook is useless.

Really interesting class. I had it at 8am, so I was often really tired, but I still enjoyed her quirkiness. It's a pretty basic class. Her tests are MC and all she does is show a picture of the art on the projector. Take notes and try to find the same pics online of the art so you can study really well.
