Really really cool professor. Not the easiest class, but she made herself overly available and wanted students to succeed. Lots of demos and proofs in class, but the tests were very similar to problems given as homework and on quizzes. I would highly recommend!

Great professor, a little intimidating at first but great enthusiasm in what she teaches. Loves demos, one can expect seeing the same demo up to 5 times. Derives everything in class. Class absolutely requires hard work. Go to lecture and recitation and study before and after class, then getting an A is very possible.

Dr. McCoy surpassed my expectations of a college professor. Lectures were clear, office hours were helpful, and the exams (and grading) were fair. Be prepared to work hard, but if you put in the hours you'll do well in the course.

I loved Dr. McCoy! She kept the class interesting with demos and was overall very enthusiastic about the course. Yes, the course itself was difficult, but as a teacher I think she did a fantastic job explaining concepts in her lectures. Dr. McCoy is very fair in her exams and you will get what you put in this class.

Dr. McCoy is very helpful to those students who are engaged and want to learn. She gives hard homework and tests, but overall she cares about her students and wants them to do well. I learned a lot in this class.

Dr. McCoy is very helpful. She gets excited when people come to office hours looking for help. Always willing to help and accept questions. Lectures are useful and she does interesting demonstrations. Quizzes are very manageable, and exams are very fair. She really cares that students learn the material.

At first it seems like she's going to be great, but found myself wondering what was going on by the first midterm, which was pretty tricky. I know that she cares about Chemistry a lot, but when asked a question she just says way too much and confuses people more. Always smiling in a really creepy way like she knows she's killing you slowly.

The material is difficult, and the book is a must. The tests are difficult and include a "gimme" point regarding attendence (one was tricky though). Her notes she posts don't match her lecture very well and require notetaking anyway. Curve and grade breakdown was pretty unclear. Averages on exams were in the 60s, and she seemed proud of it.

McCoy was a wonderful teacher. She is very enthusiastic about chemistry and teaching. She also loved to do experiments, which made class less boring. I definitely recommend her. For personal reasons, I had to drop the class, but will enroll in her class without a doubt when I retake it.

Willing to help at all times and offers help sessions prior to midterms/final the Sunday before. Fair quizzes/exams, just read the book and go to lecture. LOVES to do explosive demos, so expect one during every lecture. She may make material harder than it is, but she's overall great. Compared to the other 121 professors, she's great!

Dr. McCoy is extremely enthusiastic about teaching and tries to get all of the students actively engaged in all lectures. She welcomes questions. Her tests are hard, but that is because she wishes to challenge students, NOT see them fail.She is a fair teacher and very clear about what is on each exam/quiz.

She is VERY enthusiastic about chemistry. She is a great teacher. She seems hard because she must get through WAY TOO MUCH material in 10 weeks. Study for this class and go to all the class and you should be fine. I would reccomend to take McCoy.
