Comment:

Deutsch was no good at breathing life into already dry material. He focused entirely on theory and now how to apply the concepts in the book. Used only the slides provided by said textbook. Class was nothing like the exams. 4/5 of the class stopped showing up in the first month. Provencher is much much better.

He's a pretty great prof... very interesting, I love going to his classes - the only problem is that they are early in the morning, and I can get away with just reading the book. the only reason to go to class is to either sit and enjoy the lectures, or if you just so happen to not understand something in the book

I don't know why people don't like him he's so nice. Yes the course is boring but he does make an effort to try and be interesting and always encourages questions. He's funny to if you pay attention- it's not his fault looking at hundreds of supply/demand curves is dry as hell. He does what he can with what he has to teach

very very sarcastic professor - will not help you when you have problems - you dont need to go to class - just memorize the 208 econ books and 408 public sector econ book and you'll do well. Tremendously uninspiring professor.

If you read and understand each chapter in the text book, there's no need to go to class. But if you are confused about something, he comes up with some clear and easy explanations as he goes through at a rate of a chapter a class.

Ha! the easiest class i ever had. Missed over 3/4 of the lectures...who gets up to listen to stories at 9 .30 am? It was the easiest A i ever got: i crammed for 2 days for teh final...piece of cake!didn't learn anything though. mcgill should downgrade this class to a first year class...it's way too easy..

I've only been to 5 classes in the semester so far, including the midterm. This guy puts me to sleep, and is BORING. I guess he does try, and he might excellent in other classes, but going to this class is definitely a waste of time. Just make sure you read the book and pay attention to details in it and you're FINE.

He's odd but he really is passionate about what he is teahing. He even asks his teenage daughter for tips on what brands are "in" so that he can use them during class! (have u ever tried to deal with a depressed 13-year-old? ALL for in the interest of informing us all of the economic issues we face)

I took Deutsch's 208 class and fell asleep almost every time. I understood that he might not care about this class since nobody really participates. His 534 is excellent, however, as it is small and he is actually an extremely insightful person. This is probably why he works on the cutting edge of economics. Like econ? Take this class.

I think Deutsch is just bored in Econ 208 - in 408 (Public Policy Econ), we're getting more into his passions and he's much more interesting. Class basically goes by the book (and he tells us stories!), while the 100% final (50% paper and 50% final or 100% final, your choice) was fair. Good class!

His classes tought me to work by myself from the texbook! However the professor is an extremely friendly and helpfull person! And to be honnest, overall I learned a graet deal from this course! I would suggest you to take his course about welfare pensions. He really is an EXELLENT professor there!!!

I presume the only reason he passes students is so that the college won't start asking questions about why his class averages aren't leveling out at 43. His lectures is pointless. He is pointless. The class is a greater waste of time than watching Oprah. Oprah could teach this class better. Wanker.

This is the course from hell and Deutsch might as well be the devil himself. He reads off overheads (which are taken directly from the book), so class is pointless. STUDYING is pointless since the 70% final is murder. This class will mess up your GPA, if you HAVE to take it, go with Dickenson.

I studied my ass off for the midterm and then I fail. This teacher sucks. I feel like he wants us to fail because he never goes out of his way to actually teach us. All he does is read these stupied slides, that don't even help you cover all the info you need for the test. Worst decision ever.
