The class started out ok but eventually became a joke - half the class didn't show up, one of the two assignments with did was never even given back, and grades are arbitrary - I got an A on the midterm (the only grade they gave back) and got a B+ overall - makes no sense. Also refuses to respond to any email, which is frustrating. Waste of time.

Awesome class; a lot of fun. Prof. Barrand is a fun guy and a fabulous teacher. Get him to do a past life regression; it's really neat!! While the papers are kind of difficult and the topics not very clear, he's a pretty easy grader and the fact that the textbooks are interesting makes up for it.

Loved this class. This was the reason I got up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, no joke. Barrand is funny, down-to-earth, and really loves what he's doing. Also an international expert on erotic folk songs. Take one of his classes if you have any time in your schedule at all.

eh class was a waste of time. There were only two major assignments but u don't really need any knowledge to do them. They were more like busy work. Perhaps his other classes were better but this one just had no point. One day we could be talking about quilts, next day about shoes. Sorry to say, I didn't get much out of this class.

Professor Barrand is interesting and one of the best professors at BU. Students are encouraged to think for themselves and have an open mind. I highly suggest taking this course. There are a few papers, but they are thought provoking and overall enjoyable to write!

The most fun I've ever had at BU. Even if you don't know anything about Morris dancing, you learn a lot since all you do is dance :) The papers are also interesting because they are meant to be insightful rather than a regurgitation of information. Be prepared to show off your skills, however, since showing off is part of your grade!

Take it! Barrand is fantastic. LOTS of reading, but almost all will challenge your/conventional thought about the construction of reality, and make you question the limits our culture/calcified science puts on human potential. Edgy stuff, but a first step to sorting out the endless chicanery.

If you have any desire to be an anthro major, take this class! Actual classes are fun and easy-going, but still very interesting. The interview project is time consuming, but well worth it when you're done. Professor Barrand is an icredible professor, take this class!

If you like singing children's songs, take this calss. Also, don't buy the books. They're pointless. Basically, your grade consists of two "concerts" you put on with a group of 5-6 students, a few easy take home assignments, and a journal.

Stalking the Wild Mind was an amazing class. We talked about everything: shamanic journeying, object permanence, and every in parapsychology. Barrand's one of the best professors at BU. P.S.-get him to sing the Hamlet song.
