I had him for WR100 The Theater now and he was great! He's good at helping you develp your writing and trying to work with you. He really does want all of his students to succeed, so try your best to get to know him, talk to him, and engage in class discussions and you'll get a good grade. Fair grader, make sure you put an effort into your writing

For WR 150 he is a great Theater Now professor! He made class engaging despite boring/weird plays. He can be a tough grader but if you show you're trying and taking his corrections into account, he will cut you slack. Also, engage in group discussions esp. if your writing isn't up to par. I received a letter grade higher than I was expecting.

Professor Wallace is really interactive and truly does want to help all of his students achieve a good grade in the class. He offers to read over drafts of major essays. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! He can ramble on about certain things but he is open to hearing everyone's opinions. Overall, he is a good professor.

Don't be intimidated--he is a sweet guy and will help you work for that A. I took his class on the American Short Story and learned loads. He likes to ramble but if you listen to what he's saying, you will learn a lot and improve your writing more than you thought possible! Go to office hours!

Please do yourself a favor and do not take a class with this man! He is boring, unclear, and never stops going on his rants. He is not a good teacher, and makes the topic seem more boring than it has to! I took him for the class The Theater now because I love the theater, but I hated having him as a professor.

Theater Now- He's more prepared for his short story class; he assigns us random scholarly papers for the plays that he probably just googled and chose the first ones that came up. He knows what he wants and does not have the patience to understand any other way. I enjoyed the class because I love theater. My writing has improved but at a cost.

I LOVED Professor Wallace. Yes, he does give a ton of work and expects a lot, but he is one of the sweetest professors I've known. He wants to see you succeed and makes sure to give you a fair grade. He is an award-winning author and has a lot of knowledge. I would recommend his class any day!

Awal's class is not for introverts. Participation is crucial. Our class is very unified, and we have great discussions that he pulls out of us. Grading isn't as harsh as other WR100 teachers. Listen to his advice and participate every class, and you'll be fine.

His writing 150 class, like others, is a MANDATORY course that is mostly taken by FRESHMEN. With that in mind, he is ridiculously demanding and not very helpful (eg, rather than giving tips, he'd rather search your inner self for answers). His actions are out of line (gets personal, accesses your previous grades which he isnt authorized to do)

Prof. Wallace may seem quite distant and over-demanding in the beginning of the course. That was my original opinion though. Later on, he proved to be extremely helpful when I asked for his help. As others have already pointed out, you just need to ask for his help, and then you'll be highly rewarded. Certainly knows his material pretty well. :D

He will push you to make your writing better. He wants to help if you look for it. He's a very difficult teacher and his course is extremely time consuming. For a whole month in the middle of the semester I only worked on a paper for WR150 and ignored other classes. Probably the hardest writing class I have taken but I learned to be a better writer

Do not take this class- so boring. It was my worst class of the semester. He is a really harsh grader, talks way too much and is not helpful at all. He requires 2 conferences but if you want any additional help, he pretty much says he can't meet with you. Bad class!

I had him freshman year for the american short story. He was really interested in the subject and facilitated really good class discussions. He wasn't an easy grader-but not unfair-if you did what he asked you to it wasn't a hard class.
