He is a nice professor, but sometimes is hard to understand. He doesn't write things on the board much and uses the book for everything. Assigns a lot of homework. If you want to learn Italian then take the class, don't take it for fun, way too demanding.

He is a good professor; very capable. He assigns a lot of homework, but not even close to an impossible amount. You need to be motivated and you will do fine. He makes class fun, but not everyone likes him. But his level of teaching may be worth it!

Fun guy to have as a teacher, though he does assign alot of work. He grades really hard, but his tests and quizzes arent too bad. Cracks alot of (sarcastic) jokes and is willing to go off topic if someone asks a question -- he really knows his stuff. If you want an easy class, dont pick his.

He is a very tough professor. You always have to study a lot and work very hard. Even with hard work, some people could find his class very difficult to do well in. He is also strict. If you are not strong in languages or taking a language just to fulfill a requirement, I would recommend that you take another professor's class.

PROF. CARRARA IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. YOU SIMPLY DO THE WORK AND YOU WILL LEARN ALOT. HE IS FLEXIBLE AND ALL FOR HIS STUDENTS. HE IS KIND AND WELL STRUCTURED IN HIS TEACHING, ONCE YOU GET INTO THE SWING OF THINGS, YOU WILL FIND THE CLASS TO BE EASY, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PUT TOO MUCH EFFORT BECAUSE HIS STYLE OF TEACHING ASSISTS WITH THE STRUGGLE.

if you really want to learn italian--there is no better person to take classes with than carrara but he will make you work. doesnt tolerate slacking of any kind. if you just want to fulfill language requirement, find someone else...carrara is very funny but a lot of people dont like his humor

He is a fun teacher. I would take him again. It's not easy though but you have to study. Some people complain about him, but the work is easier when you are actually prepared! He is a fair grader also.
