Some of what people say about him is true, and yet I can't help but admire him. He has a major reactionary axe to grind against his department for their poor tutelage, and he's right. Do some research and try to make an informed contribution to discussions, otherwise don't bother attending. It wastes everyone's time and Bohm responds appropriately.

He is not trying to challenge you or make you think with his behavior, he is just plain rude and mean. This prof never has anything positive to add to discussion. He has outrageous opinions and mocks you if you challenge them. He rarely touches on the novels but rather goes off on tangents. Avoid this prof!

Worst professor I have ever had! Found him funny for a week, but he's just plain RUDE. Unclear. Disrespectful. Sexist. The students are wrong 90% of the time (in his opinion). No one wants to participate because we all know he's going to tell us we're wrong. Singles people out ALL THE TIME. He is just terrible. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!

The best professor I have ever had. His lectures are so interesting that I lose track of time. His strength is leading discussion. However, some students have trouble discerning whether he is joking or not--he almost always is. If you have good grammar, he is the easiest marker in the world.

the worst professor I have EVER dealt with. Bohm makes students feel terrible about themselves by making a point of singling them out and embarrassing them...maybe he did that to make himself feel more superior? Just awful.

Went from an A at midterm to C+ final grade (my lowest). Essays were all 80%+, except the last one which was 54% and I did absolutely NOTHING different on. Still don't know how it dropped that much, his exams are extremely easy and I thought I did very well on it. Lecture topics have nothing to do with exams, so attending class is pointless because

i rarely attended classes because they were useless. He doesn't focus on your overall ideas in essays, only the specific technical details- resulting in the achievement of terrible marks.

His lectures were incredibly boring. He is quite rude to his students. An inconsistent marker. Gave me the worst mark I've ever received on one essay (D), then an A+ on the next. His saving grace: his exams are very straightforward. If you prepare, you will do well on the exam.

What's wrong with you people? Bohm's great! He's hilarious, he knows his stuff, and so what if he's short with people and likes to single people out? It's funny! Get over it! Plus he's EASY!

I don't get you all. I love Bohm- he's funny. He makes good enough jokes, at least better than many profs, and its funny when he singles people out, like when they leave the class early.if ur guna do it just have a witty response ready. and hes EASY so dont complain.

There's lots of Bohm-hating here, but I like him well enough. He does single people out, but if you have a brain that's not a problem. His class isn't easy, and I actually enjoyed it. He has some odd mannerisms, which make the lectures more interesting.

Made very strong statments and would not allow any debate over them, a total disregard for other's opinions, rude and extremely sweaty! Centered out students and ridiculed their statements if not correct, speaks in a very annoying way. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!! you will regret it! Hard marker and very stubborn!

Prof.Bohm sucks. Undoubtedly the worst professor at Carleton. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH THIS MAN. Horrible... rude, judgemental, singles people out to make them feel stupid in class, unfair marker, bitter, I have nothing good to say about this man

To be avoided, definitely. Centers people out, does not take the opinions of students seriously, does not prepare lectures before class, and fills the majority of class time with his own far fetched musings. His practice exams are sweet though.

It is very easy to master his exams. BUT, you will have to know your stuff backwards and know how to write a good essay. Other than that, there are no unfair questions and no tricks. He's also a decent man who cares greatly about what he's teaching. If you fail his course, it's not likely his fault.

avoid this prof at all costs. just picture working really hard on an essay, and really putting the effort into it, and getting a really low grade for it. unfair marker, boring lectures, singles people out...there are plenty of good English profs at Carleton, don't waste your time with this one.
