Farr is an amazing professor and he grades easy as well. Intellectual class discussion. You don't even need to take notes or study. Tests are a joke and easy As. Easy questions such as: Who was Socrate's student?

Dr. Farr's class is the hardest i have taken at St.Joe's But it was ALSO THE BEST. I learned the most and it had the best discussions. Farr is very up top about alot of topics and is also pretty funny. I would recomend taking his class its worth it.

Dr. Farr gave us alot of hard reading, but it was very thought provoking. If you did alot of studying outside of the classroom and completed the studyguides, you should pass. Do the hardest topic when it comes to papers, and ask him for help. He usually gives you resources for. Also, take good notes and ask questions if you do not get it.

Lectures were interesting but the class was very difficult. The material discussed was hard to understand. He gives study guides with the exact questions on the test, but he doesnt really give you the answers to it. I never got over a C- on a test. There is one big paper, and he grades pretty easy on it.

the classes and the course altogether had little structure to it, just him standing up and rambling each day. he's nice enough to give out exam questions, but only a couple days before the test, and doesn't specify as to what makes a good response. he's also liberal as all hell, and it most likely affects his grading. be warned.

Dr. Farr is a great teacher. He understands college students and really cares about their college career. The texts we have to read are difficult, but Dr. Farr explains them and relates them to modern times. I am very glad I had him.

Great guy. Really gets into the lecture and keeps you interested the entire class. He literally gives you the test to study so if you do the work you'll do great.

Nice man, very intelligent. His class was more difficult than I had expected, but worth the effort. You'll have about 2 or 3 tests, an in-depth research paper, and a final. He does give study guides to those classes who "earn" them by participating and showing interest in the readings. But just a warning: don't expect this class to be easy.

The person who left the comment about him just teaching about slaves is ignorant. The second part of the class (which I have with that person) is about civil rights not slaves...If you can't deal with that then you should not be in college? what a shame if you can't distinguish a SLAVE from a Black person in the civil rights movement?

he's a great guy and a pleasure to listen to in class... if he likes your class enough to give out study guides for the tests, you'll be fine if you're willing to do a little work finding answers. also a tough (long) paper. worth taking for some enlightening (sometimes heated) discussions on race, good to see a diverse class here.

I didnt really like him that much. I felt like the second part of the course was all about racism and he was just teaching us about slaves and to feel bad for them. Tests are somewhat easy though because he gives you a study guide with questions, where the test questions come from. The paper sucks, I would take someone else.

Great guy, really gets into his topics. Not really hard tests, but all short answer/essay oriented. 10 page paper, which was kinda tough, but all in all a good teacher, really gets you into philosophy.

He doesn't have easy tests - but his grading of papers is pretty fair. He's really into his classes so sometimes he can be boring because he can get too into a topic. I always thought he was a little hottie too.

stopped giving review sheets so basically he left u with the entire 5 books to read and memorize for his 2 1/2 hour final. definately go to class if u want to be prepared for his tests. not as easy or great as everyone made him out to be. kinda dissapointing.

Dr. Farr sucked this semester, no test reviews and he seemed very pissed off all the time. His paper was horrible, unless you like writing an 8 page research paper toward the end of the semester. I had heard good things about him but this semester he sucked big time

Dr. Farr is the best teacher I've had so far. He makes you really interested in philosophy, and you learn a lot. He gives study guides before the tests so if you study, you can get an A. Takes attendance. Only 5 grades: 3 tests, a paper, and the final. I definitely recommend him.

I took this class Knowledge and Existence and found it interesting. However, Dr. Farr has a lesson plan for 12 months and force feeds it in 8 weeks. He helps and gives test reviews before test. If it's your only class you'll do well. LOTS OF READINGS.
