He's a good professor. A little soft spoken, however he helps you to understand literature from many point of views.You may think its one way and he's helps you to see the bigger picture. I would recommend him. You would not be disappointed in my opinion.

Had him for Intro to Lit and I really enjoyed the class. He constantly is asking questions so keep up with the readings and he always takes roll so be sure to show up! Pretty simple class as long as you put a little effort into it. Definitely would recommend!

Great teacher, extrememly helpful. He's a little boring but he's always relevant to the subject and you learn alot from what he teaches. Attendence is mandatory cause he'll take role at the beginning of class, i'm sure its for a reason.

Dr. Hartstein is a wonderful teacher for this class. His reviews are extremely helpful in the reinforcement of what you need to know for the quizzes. Also, he cares about each student as a person. I find him to be very helpful and I hope that I am able to take a class that he teaches again.

Dr. Hartstein is an amazing professor. He absolutely loves his job and it really shows! He is very clear about what he expects and is not too harsh when grading. I have had him 3 times now & I would never hesistate to take another one of his classes. I would recommend him to anyone!

Awful!!! He gives you bad grades on journal entries. And at the beginning of the class he was telling us that our journals are our opinions blah blah he graded one of mine and said good job very interesting and gave me 9/10!

TAKE HIM, TAKE HIM, TAKE HIM!Dr. Hartstein is the best english teacher at WVSU. I've taken him several times, including ENG 150 & ENG 250. He presents great topics, really helps his students to understand the subject, and cares about his students. You will read alot and you will type papers, but compared to other eng. teachers, he is so worth it!
