Very fun LONG assignments that where unrelated to the course content. I took Object Oriented Programming with him but we did NO assignments related to OOP. Overall I enjoyed the class and learned ALOT about C++ but not sure how much I learned about OOP. Worried that if I take another cource with him we will see the same programming questions.

Very Very Very Long assignments. I had him for Object Oriented Programming and found that assignments could take anywhere between 10 and 20 hours. Assignments are assigned at least once a week (sometimes every 5 days). Other than CRAZY assignments good prof. Interesting. Reasonable as well. Will extent assignments if people are struggling.

A bit disorganized and goes off on a tangent sometimes. Sometimes rambles for most of the class and gets to the important stuff at the end. Assignments may be submitted late without penalty as long as you don't use up all of your "late credits." Very leniant when it comes to due dates; will push forward if a lot of people are having troubles.

Sedgwick disgresses from the subject matter all the time. A lot of people don't like this, but it keeps classes interesting, and if you really pay attention to his code, you can learn a lot of tricks and techniques for programming. If asked, he will happily sit down with you at a computer for hours to help you on an assignment. Very dedicated prof.

He is a typical computer science teacher. I can see myself in his shoe in 40 years. Easily side tracked (keep class interesting). His blend of dis-organization and old-prof style make him the type of teacher I like. Doesn't help much with teaching thought.

He is disorganized, and gets off track very easily. He doesn't seem to teach us much but expects a lot from his assignments. He needs to teach and not get off track so we can do the assignments that he asks us to do!

I liked him, but he was a bit lazy/disorganized and his assignments were frequently unclear. Also, he tended to talk down to the class as if we were kindergarteners, but I don't think that was intentional. Also, the class was too easy: it took us about a month to get to simple if statements.
