After one week of sleeping through his class, I actually started to love it. The man is brilliant. If you like to think, it's a great class. Be prepared- he asks 20 minute questions that end in "yes"? And the man has an unexplained, deep hatred for country music. I enjoy going to his class and the texts are good reads as well.

Professor Tracy is a brilliant man. He can remember some very abstract things of American History, like tobacco prices in the Virginia colony in a certain year. I really enjoyed his class. It's a lot of reading, so be prepared to work! You can get a decent grade, it's definitely not beyond reach.

Hate this class, he talks too slow and can't make a simple sentence. if he asks questions, they're 100 words long and so twisted you can't figure out what he's even asking. Insanely dull. But unfortunately, teaches half the amstud classes.

Excellent thinker and lecturer. Emphasis on teaching class how to think, NOT what to think about history. Welcomes alternative viewpoints and is an enjoyable experience. Be prepared to work and participate and you will be fine. Not reccomended for Non-History/Am. Studies Majors.
