The reviews prior to this one made me laugh. CSUMB is normally considered an "easy" school and when a teacher actually challenges you, people freak out. The material isn't easy, but Babita will help you if you show your trying to stay on track. Babita is a very smart woman and I have learned a lot from her. One regret is that BUS460 was hybrid.

Don't know what others were thinking, but Babita is an awesome teacher. Very helpful. 308 is a challenging class in general. Takes HOURS of reviewing material to fully understand. If you fail test 1 and pass test 2, she'll change your test 1 to a passing grade. Best teacher for this class by far! Would definitely recommend Babita. Review material!!

She seems nice at the beginning, but stay far away from her class. She seems like she doesn't want to teach and also you don't want to go to her office hours because it seems like she will "bite off your head." If you start to fail her class, there is little hope for you to pass even though you have a C-. If you are considering taking her, don't.

This is a "get it or you don't" type of course. She goes over everything step by step and provides pages of notes, so if you miss class or aren't paying attention when you need to be, that's your fault. There's minimal homework, but the semester project will make up for that lost time! Don't underestimate it.

Comment:

Computer Information Systems is difficult, no matter who you take the class with. Babita explained the different sections so well that I hardly touched the book (though in many ways, that stupid book was useless!). There's little required homework, but if you have difficulty, I recommend practicing.

This "Professor" is the worst ever!!! she will be sweet and sugar at the begining of the semester, and after you can't drop the class, get ready for hell!. i have never had a better professor than babita. she is extremely smart and on top of EVERYTHING. in no way is it an easy class, but she will help you earn an A. I specifically signed up for another one of her classes next semester so she can be my teacher. if you want to learn something, take her. you will leave the class a much brighter person

Dr. Gupta is realistic about the amount of time required to get this material. You have to do the homework and go to class to do well. Do the work. If you don't get it, go to her office hours and she'll help you. It can take some time, but you have to do the work.

It's simple, there are Junior College instructors who are 10 times as helpfull as Babita.She's extremely bias, discouraging, unhelpful and incompetent. Her poorly structured class the Business Schools shame. It's funny when you go to the grad dinner and all the graduates avoid her because she's a miserable, sadistic creep whos hatedby MOST students

Babita's classes are difficult to enjoy. Getting along with her is a delicate art, but if you can pull it off, you'll be a part of her little circle, which is worth its weight in GOLD. The way to do this is to demonstrate lots of effort, a little bit of competence, and being in tune with world news (especially India) since she is a foreigner.

I had Babita for both BUS 670 & BUS 640. BUS 670, Database management was a challenging course that required you to work alot to really understand databases. I don't under the bad marks. You work hard, but you learn lot that will help in the real work world. It's no free ride. She's always made herself available after class to assist you if needed.

GO TO CLASS, EVERY TIME NO MATTER WHAT. Can't really afford to miss a beat here - it's hard but if you take advantage of the generous after class time she gives you, you can learn a lot. Once in the real world, you'll probably wished you paid more attention in this class. I can't think of any other BUS class that helped me more in the work world.

She has a PHD, so that means she does not have to actually teach. She is allowed to throw a textbook at students on day one, and call it semester. She is a truly sadistic instructor who seems to get off on watching students fail. I passed her class with a B only because of years of experience with excel. She hates teaching and it's obvious.

This instructor doesn't have a clue. When 3/4 of the class is failing, she blames the students and refuses to take responsibility for the poor instruction she provides. She publicly admits to giving "C study guides" (study guides that are designed to only get you a "C" at best. She's really miserable and angry but pretends not to be. RIP OFF CLASS

I don't understand why she has received so many bad marks on here... I had her for the database management class and she is very knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps it is because this is her fortay? The workload is a lot, but that has only helped, not hinder my learning and understanding.

Very arrogant, very stubborn. Doesn't like explaining things when you're lost. Acts like you're supposed to know all the stuff you're still learning. Expects you to ask questions in class though. So the way to get away with it is to ask questions about stuff you know already so she feels like she taught you something. She get's extremely pissed off and frustrated if you don't understand her, or don't do things her way.
