He's really nice, but the lectures aren't really lectures. He just goes over the homework assigned during the last class. I failed the first exam, but I started studying the practice exams in the textbook to teach myself and I ended up passing the class. He does give extra points if you don't miss more than 3 classes.

Honestly, the class wasn't that difficult. The test are really easy and simple but that's only if you do the online quizzes and homework to study. if anything the test is easier then taking the only quizzes. But you definitely going to need to read the book by and teach yourself because his lectures are useless but attendance is mandatory.

He gets a bad rep but hes not that bad. If you do the readings and homework and pay attention in class you do good. Test arent that hard. As long as you put in effort youll succeed.

Professor Buchoff is the best accounting professor I've had so far. As long as you put in effort he will work with you to pass the class!

Excerpt from my TU Course Eval.: I think that due to the nature of the course, it is expected that the professor be a veteran in the accounting field, but at the same time I think that a professor shouldn't be so disconnected from the students that he is teaching with such a veteran mindset. Don't do it unless you prefer self study.

you basically have to teach yourself in his class. He does not teach during the lectures so much as go over things he presumably thinks you already know. You NEED the textbook to even have chance of passing. My advice, get a tutor if you're in his class and learn the material there because believe me you will not learn it during lectures.

Buchoff rarely starts class on time, usually because he spends five minutes taking attendance at the start of every class. His lectures are very boring, and some of his instruction includes the phrase: "you need to read insert chapter here to understand this." That being said, as long as you read the book and do the homework, you should pass.

Has no idea how to teach to kids 40 years younger then him , can be funny at times but it's all textbook driven . Highly suggest don't take him unless you want to fail all test and withdraw

I came into Buchoff's class expecting a bit more. He's a nice man and pretty understanding, but his actual teaching skills were below par. Most of the class was teaching myself out of a textbook, he rarely gives lectures, and when he does he blows through the slides and leaves everyone confused. Don't take him if you can help it.

Be prepared to teach yourself the material. Have the book the first day of class. I would recommend taking this class with a different professor if you can avoid Buchoff.

Buchoff was a really tough professor. I ended up dropping his class because he was just a bad teacher in general. I didn't learn anything from him and basically had to teach myself. I would definitely recommend taking a different professor unless you want to put all of your effort into this one class.

If you get stuck with him, please have the textbook before the class starts and read the first chapter before the first class. This class will be 99% of the textbook. You will basically teach yourself. He barely does any teaching in class but still takes attendance. Only 2 grade types, attendance and tests. Try your best to avoid.

He is a very friendly, smart man. Takes attendance every day. Will help out if you go to his office hours, but be prepared to go through the readings and homework questions by yourself. If you don't take the time to do the homework, you won't do well on the tests. Tests basically mimic the homework examples

Do not take him unless you're ready to teach yourself all the material. It is a self taught class, and he doesn't teach in class, but it is mandatory to attend. If you want to have a super stressful semester, then he is definitely the profesor for you. A tutor doesn't help and neither does he, just don't take him. You won't do well.

Would not reccomend anyone to ever take his class. Tests are tough because you have to teach yourself everything, and he doesn't tell you what to prepare for. Sitting through his "lectures" feels like a complete waste of time, and if you skip his class, he'll fail you. He doesn't show any examples of how to do anything. AVOID at all costs.

You have to read and teach yourself. I took acct in HS so the first few weeks of class weren't too hard for me. There are so many things that you need to know from each chapter in case they are on the tests. 2 tests, each 20 Qs with extra credit and he curves them. Final was cumulative but only 35 Qs with EC. You have to study every day for an A

2 exams and a final. Assigns homework every single class but will only check it twice the entire semester. Hardest class I've taken at Towson, I'm lucky I passed. He's personable, funny, and will work with you if you talk to him. More than half of my class dropped by the end. I've never been more confused in class in my life. I felt dumb sometimes.

Buchoff was the worst professor I have had. He doesn't teach whatsoever. You teach yourself everything about accounting. He has powerpoints, and he skips over the majority of the slides because "you should already know this." He is overly rude to students that didn't complete their homework. I am very glad I don't have to take his class any longer.

So I took Buchoff this past spring semester for acct 201, and it was one of the worst classes i EVER took. Now, with that said, its fairly easy to pass. If you attend just about every class, shoot him some emails about some homework questions so he knows you exist, you should pass with a C. I got a 50 on test one and test 2, no idea about final.
