Comment:

Dr. Janes is a very personable professor. He is very strict with attendance and grading, so if you are a slacker, do not take him. He will make you work and confront you in front of the whole class if he knows you aren't giving it your all. He pushed me to do my best and actually work for the grade where I learned a lot more than I would slacking.

Dr. Janes is honestly one of the most fun teachers I've had. I can't say I look forward to most hour and a half classes but he keeps it fun and he's very personable during his lectures. He likes to play tricks on you if you leave the room so beware. He's always there if you need help, so take advantage of it.

Comment:

I truly enjoyed having class with Dr. Janes this semester. While he did assign a lot of homework, I felt it wasn't too much to handle. Plus, if I ever struggled with a quiz or test, Dr. Janes would help. He tries to lighten up the class with humor and pop-culture references which is greatly appreciated. He also allows an exemption from the final!

This class was pretty fun and I took it online. The professor seems personable. However, the online course consisted of a quiz every week and 4 essays every 2-3 weeks. It was pretty demanding for a 100-level course. The grading on essays were pretty strict, considering there's no guidelines. My only issue was the lack of time given between the work

Dr. Janes is probably one of the most personable and enthusiastic professors I've had. It obvious that he loves his job and his students! He can be tough when it comes down to class workprojectstests only because he truly wants you to retain the info he's teaching. Would 10000% take again!

Janes is an amazing professor! Not only does he care about his students, but he genuinely cares about the subjects he teaches. His lectures are long, but he throws in jokes every now and then to keep the class on their toes. He's very approachable and is extremely helpful. He's not my advisor, but I go to him for a lot of questions anyway.

Dr. Janes is great. If you want an easy A, don't take him. If you actually want to learn, TAKE HIM! He is very knowledgable. There is a lot of work for this class, and it's not easy, but I learned a lot. He is always willing to help you out too.

Janes is the man. If you're interested in TV, this is the guy you want. You'll learn a ton, plus he knows how to keep things light and humorous without going overboard or getting awkward. He can get you connections too, so keep that in mind.

Great guy and loved his lectures. He is just way to hard with his tests. When it is a challenge to PASS an open book test when I am a 3.0 student, something is wrong. Also, its way to much history and not enough practicality.

Great teacher, difficult class. Book not that helpful, but you need it for Chapter projects. People tend to fail this course if they don't do the work. Definitely need to start interviews early on in the course or you can fall behind. Try to have backup interviewees just in case one falls through. DO THE WORK, he's always around and wiling to help.

As stated above, this class is a ton of work. 3 papers, 7 quizzes, 7 group essays AND an presentation. I got really annoyed at this class because Janes put such emphasis on groups that basically your whole entire grade depends on other people. He is kind of passive aggressive to select students, but super sweet and helpful if you show interest.

A class about watching sitcoms, definitely easy right? Well not really. Took this online course thinking it wouldn't be too bad...but it actually was a lot of work. In 6 weeks -- 7 quizzes, 3 (3-5 page) papers, hours of tv watching, and on top of that, 3 GROUP PAPERS. Group papers online?? Not fun! He is a hard grader but will help you if u need it

He means well, but will always give you feedback and will keep questioning you until you give him what he wants to hear and it detracts from the course because he will say the same thing to every group presenting. doesnt use the book a lot besides quizes and gives the same "find the job not a job" lecture that youve heard from him since fresh year

Janes is a good professor but tough. He expects alot out of his students, not just with the work they do but with how respectful and responsible they are. He will always ALWAYS dislike something about your project even if you thought it was amazing. VERY helpful both in and outside of classes.
