Not a bad course. He makes the class interesting. I took an online class and he only requires 5 discussion posts and 3 essays. Reading the textbook is a must. He's really nice and cares about his students doing well.

Kass cares about the subject, but his lecturing can be lackluster and tangential. Class felt more like a high school level anthropology class. Great for an easy A and a quick introduction to our evolutionary lineage, but I found it lacking in depth.

The lectures are long, and boring if sociology is not your thing. If you are a conservative, pick another professor lol. The tests are pretty difficult and he only gives three all semester. Not many assignments, but he allows you to do endless amounts of extra credit.

He's great. Not the easiest of classes and if you miss a class your guaranteed to be behind but no too much because his lectures tend to loop back around. If you know the key terms he does put on the board then the tests are a cake walk! Read the book he gives and don't wait till last minute either. He talks A LOT but its pretty clear where he is.

Took him in the Fall '10 . He was not that clear on his tests. I deserved a c- when he ctually gave me a B+ the only reason for that was because of the extra credit which are your life savors in a course.. Hes nice yata yata but he's not the my professor type

He's an okay professor. Goes off tangent all the time, so it feels like your teaching yorself. There were only 3 tests and they were brutal but not that bad. He gives like extra credit in every class, so there is no reason to fail the class..

He's a good guy; if he had a whole yr to spend teaching Sociology he could, he has enough material & knowledge for it, but you HAVE TO help move him along or you won't get far enough or get enough quizzes in to substantiate a real grade. The more material you move through, the more beneficial it is to you instead of stewing over the same subject.

Very nice man. Gives lots of extra credit. Tests are not very difficult. Never be late or have your cell phone go off in his class it really irritates him. Once you are seated in his class the doors close and you are strongly urged not to leave and disrupt his class.

My first professor for anthropology. He really makes the topics interesting, and brings an alternative view to the issues. He does get a bit tangential at times, but his stories are great and make you want to travel as an anthropologist. All of his classes are great. Real good way to introduce yourself to the discipline.

He is obviously very passionate about his subject and he'd love nothing more than to have at least three hours to delve deeply and productively into an interesting topic with his class. Kind, very helpful. His pet peeve are late arrivals.

A great teacher. He's talks a lot, but what he says is almost always relevant/helpful. Not afraid to delve into sensative topics (prostitution, marijuana, racism, etc.)He is very thorough in his lectures and is always willing to clarify any topic. I'd say he's one of the best professors I've had here.
