He is the worst professor I have ever taken. His lectures put you to sleep and all he talks about is his own accomplishments and tests you on things that you DO NOT LEARN IN CLASS. It is the worst thing ever and if you read this then do not take this class. IT is NOT worth it. I swear to you. I am begging you. TURN AROUND AND DONT LOOK BACK

Wow so this is the ONLY time I have felt the need to rate a professor. First of all, his lectures are boring, and meandering. He isn't respectful to students. He assigns a TON of reading, and his tests are DIFFICULT. You have to study so many small, unimportant facts that he will try to trick you over, and most of the class failed. AVOID HIM.

His teaching method is to talk and then test you over it. No powerpoints or organization. only take him if you are good at listening and taking notes. but even then, the tests are over a lot more than what he talks about.

Independent Study. Very easy guidelines set by myself and professor. Gave great feedback, and communication was solid. Overall, a fantastic way to receive credit and not have a lot of work to do, and one less class to attend to.

Repeats the same thing, over and over... Beware he is very proud of his work and is self absorbed. Made class attendance mandatory after most the class missed when it was flooding and bad weather, do not take this professor.

I took Cosmic Narratives and the class itself isn't too hard. there were a number of essays I had to write but he grades fairly easily. Lectures on the other hand are hard to follow as he often goes off topic and can put you to sleep. The subject itself is just basic sciences and history. Overall easy A class, terrible lecturer.

His lectures tend to go way off topic and he loves talking about his personal life, socialism, and atheism. His tests are moderately challenging so make sure you do the readings beforehand. Keep up with the writing assignments. He offers one extra-credit opportunity and an optional take home final. No attendance taken. Uninspiring class.

His tests were tough. Reading all of texts, study the authors biographies and the history for story as well. I really enjoyed his lectures. He is really funny. Extra credit and an optional final exam are what helped me get an A. Get ready to read and put extra work into his course.

His tests were not tough but there is a lot of reading to prepare for them so I recommend studying everything on the syllabus leading up to that day. His map tests were easy. I recommend making copies of the map and filling in the blanks. His lectures never had anything to do with the tests but I enjoyed the multiple extra credit opportunities.

His first 5 tests have nothing to do with any actual readings. He gives you a sheet with the Native American tribes, you memorize them, and then that's your test. He has a 2500 word essay and allows re-writes. It should be a history class instead of an English class. I haven't learned a thing from him directly.

This is a reading intensive course, but he gives plenty of time. This class has 3 test, weekly writing to learns that are 300 words, and a final paper that is about 8 pages. Not a bad class. He is friendly. Class can be boring but whats new. Extra credit available.

Second time taking Dr. Wood. Many of these reviews are accurate. He gives you what you need to pass and it's your responsibility to be up to the task. Lectures do tend to go off on tangents so the syllabus is your best friend. Gives plenty of opportunity to do really well. You have to work to FAIL.

There's not much participation. He doesn't usually take attendance but I do recommend you go to class because his lectures can be very helpful. The tests are more based off of history and facts than literary analysis. Good professor though. 14 WTLs (Writing to Learns-250-300 words each), Three Multiple Choice Tests, One 2000 word Research Paper.

He would go off tangent a lot, and was very conceited. Almost every day before the lecture he would spend from 5 to 20 mins talking about how great he is instead of teaching us anything. Tests are hard, as they're focused on minuscule details in the text. I didn't learn much. I will give him credit as a fair grader on papers though.

3 midterms are extraordinarily hard to do well on, but assigned writing is not difficult or harshly graded. Optional final and extra credit available. Very easy to compensate for poor test scores. You'll hate his tests but ewill njoy the rest.

You will NOT do well in this class if you don't read the work carefully, including historical and author biographical info. His tests are remarkably difficult and you will fail if you don't KNOW the material... all of it. He does not curve, but he does offer extra credit opportunities. He's not a hard grader on the writing.

So at first I hated him!!!! He seemed so sarcastic and mean.BUT after I actually listened and read the assignments I loved the class. He will open your mind. He goes off topic a lot,so keep up with the readings,do the extra credit, and keep up with the weekly writing assignments and you will be fine.I bombed the first test but managed an A- overall!!

Useless class. Wood is disorganized and conceited. Gives some interesting facts but FAILS to synthesize new ideas. The entire field of "big history" fails to provide any meaningful insight. The majority of the learning is academic history. Anyone that comes out with anything significant from this class didn't have much going in.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I love British LIt and I was so excited to take the class. . THe biggest waste of time!!! He never talks about literature-only religion and history. The tests were the most ridiculous tests I've ever taken. I am an A student and worked hard to get a B+. Condescending and plays favorites. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
