She is a great and informative professor who cares a lot about her work. She does give her opinion on a lot of lectures and feedbacks but this is to help the students become more informative and attended in lectures. She does count attendance and is serious about her grading skills. Just participate and follow her lectures and you will do good.

An amazing professor who cares a lot about her students. The way this class is taught is wonderful because you get the chances to visit actual organizations and make connections with future employers. The group presentations are great because you learn about other places that might be hiring.

She is a wonderful professor and she genuinely cares about her students. The set-up of her class is great because the final project helps you put into work everything you have learned throughout the semester. Pay attention and ask questions.

I would try to avoid her at all cost. She rude, condescending, and will try to intimidate students. She literally has a power trip and wants you to know you are insignificant. Don't ever ask a question in regards to a grade you received, she feels like your undermining her authority, and will start projecting an unwelcoming harsh environment.

She is a very old school teacher! The exams are 100 questions. However, her lecture is very hard to follow. She BS a lot on other things. Drumps from one topic to another. She is NOT follow her power point. She will rather us one hour to talk about the director from other school's public health department, and rush through the lecture.

Amazing, professional and caring. Was a pleasure to have her as a professor. She is very understanding, reasonable and credible. She is very knowledgeable of the public health field and prepares her students for the different careers available in the field. Wants all her students to succeed in life and in making the world a better/healthier place.

Very fortunate to take her class. Very kind, knowledgeable professor w/ goals of preparing her students for successful careers in the public health field. Tests based on power points but book is very helpful to study from. She assigns group projects & assignments & attendance and participation & important. Easy to talk to and very understanding.

You have only group project and a final group paper, no book requires because everything is on the powerpoint. she does keep a sign in sheet so attendance does matter, if you participate a couple times your good to go for those points. class is self explanatory.

very easy class you just have to show up for attendance points and participate once or a few times and your good to pass. Tests are easy she provides a study guide, the class is very easy you don't need the book at all because she puts everything on the powerpoint. You have one group project and one group paper to do as far as assignments.

I took Dr. Sharif for Health Promotion and PH Administration this semester and she was amazing! Be prepared to participate in class, you'll definitely get on her good side if you do. I didn't really use the books in her classes too much, her lectures have all the info you need for the exams. A couple of easy projects too. Highly recommend her!

Like a few other comments said, she cannot be reasoned with. She's an older faculty member and will continuously remind you that you are a student ( more so if you are an undergrad), so be prepared to be talked down to. The administration does not help either. She also does not communicate her assignments clearly, so be cautious of this. Good luck

Professor Sharif, is very knowledgeable about the subject that she teaches, and she clearly is able to transfer the information to the students in a effective manner. The group project is fun in this class but you have to be prepared to participate because after all every class requires some form of participation. Overall a good course.

I had the pleasure of having professor Sharif for the internship course at CSULA. The class only meets twice and there is much paperwork involved only because professor Sharif wants to make sure that the internships are good for the students. It was a good course to take.

I took professor Sharif for numerous classes and she has been nothing but inspirational. Probably one of the best professors in the department she makes sure that when she assigns work, it is clear what her expectations are. She explains during each class what she wants in all her assignments and will make appts to talk about the projects.

she wants class participation but beware to know what you are talking about. She will rip you up for a "dumb" question. Its best to just sit and pretend to listen. Exams will be mostly based on book and slides.

I've taken 4 classes with Dr. Sharif and I have nothing good to say about her. All those bad things you've heard are true. Very rude, disrespects students, wastes your time. Doesn't give any feedback in a timely matter, and make sure you have the book because she teaches you nothing. I would avoid if at all possible.

Dr Sharif is very professional and knows her subject very well. Pay attention on her lectures, read the book and you will be able to pass this course without any difficulties. She has very specific criteria for the project and if you are confused ask for help and she will help you. Love her so much!
