Dixon is AMAZING!!! Hes the best professor Ive ever experienced hes a wonderful person in general but an even better teacher. He teaches his students what he thinks we would find interesting. Every day class is set up the same with written notes and then a video with questions. Very easy if you study the material given!

Comment:

Dixon is probably one of my favorite professors of all time. Very friendly and will learn everyone's name in the entire class. The class seems a bit overwhelming at first but it is incredibly straightforward. Tells you exactly what's on the tests and you just to memorize the maps, video sheets and notes.

Love Dixon!! His lessons are so interesting, he makes geography fun! He does some notes, a map, and then a video each class! Tests are super easy if you STUDY. He is very personal and knows everyone's name. He really does just want to see you succeed! Easy A class if you study and really learn the material!

Dixon is one of my favorite professors at Oneonta! His lectures are so interesting and fascinating. He shows a lot of videos related to the lesson too. He truly cares about students doing well and he takes time to know your name. The tests are based all on memorization from handouts, maps and notes. Go to class and study and you will be fine!

Great teacher!! Is very nice and is always willing to help. The class honestly has a lot of information but if you put in the work and study its an Easy A. The lectures are very interesting and entertaining. Was not expecting to learn about pandas in my geography class, but I loved it. Just DON'T go on your phone!!!!

He is the best prof I have had at Oneonta. He puts so much work into his lessons and it is evident. You don't get bored in class because there is a good balance of lecture, videos, and maps. Tests can be difficult, but he tells you everything that will be on them and you just have to memorize the material. Really cares about his students.

Very nice and funny but respects effort and will fail you if you dont provide it. Works very hard on his lectures and expects the same out of you. I find his lectures very irrelevant however and really unrelated to the principles and making of maps, many videos. Not much homework so everything counts heavily. Won't pass tests if you dont study

LOVE HIM!!! I was dreading taking geography and thought it would be so boring but its my favorite class. He makes classes so interesting time goes by so quick I actually enjoy being there. You have to study hard to do well, lots of memorization, but he is very clear and prepares you well. If you study you will do well

One of the best professors I have had the pleasure of having here. Dixon clearly enjoys his jobs and his class always flies by, it is never boring. Lectures are usually notes on the board, filling in a map, then watching a video. We usually get out a little early. it is ESSENTIAL to study for his tests, or else you will not pass. very minimum hw

Dixon is the man! Intimidating class at first but definitely works out as the semester goes on. Lectures are always interesting, mixing in a bit of notes, a map, and either a quick map lab or video. Project at the end is also pretty fun to do, not bad at all! Really gets to know and cares about all of his students if you work hard,Highly recommend!

Dixon is absolutely amazing. a little overwhelming in the beginning but you won't regret the class. study HARD (week in advance) for 2 tests &final & youll do great. not alot of other work other than that. never seen a professor so dedicated and passionate. he reminds me of matt mcconaughey if that helps ;) memorization is key!!!! highly recommend

Greatest teacher I've ever had. Really enjoys his job and puts a lot of time and effort into each lesson. If you study everything he tells you on the test, the tests are really easy. If not you won't pass. Overall though it's an easy class and fun to go to.

Dixons intro class isnt the easiest, but its well worth taking. A class that you will never want to fall asleep in because he teaches what he calls "Extreme Geography." He will go out of his way to ensure that you pass, not only in his class but others too. Procrastinators will learn early on this isnt the class to procrastinate.

First of all, YES; you need the book but only for chapter assignments (you can share with a friend). DIxon is wonderful! It's true there's a lot of memorization, but you just need to look over stuff early and often. Procrastinators, that means you, too :) I loved his lectures so much! He wants you to succeed and will connect with you the first day.

Best professor I have had so far in Oneonta, great professor and puts a lot of enthusiasm into his work. Class was extremely interesting and I always looked forward to going. Tests were not difficult but did require a good amount of studying in order to memorize everything. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him.
