Comment:
Dr. Pruitt is very passionate but very disorganized. Her lectures are disorganized and she jumps around topics. I had to teach myself all the material because her lectures do not help you succeed on the tests at all. Only graded on book review, 3 tests, oral history project, and the final is doubled and worth 28% of your grade. Do not take her!!

This course is very inconsiderate of the student's personal life, job, other courses and homework. She only takes test grades, an interview grade and book report.

Dr. Pruitt is very knowledgeable on this subject. She was slow on grading a few things, but she was very apologetic, and in her defense, she was teaching a few other courses at the same time. She is easy to reach by email and willing to assist students with any questions they have on the subject.

I would not take her class if you do not want to read everyday. I had to teach myself all of the material. She is so passionate about the material that she goes on rants during the lectures, making it impossible to learn anything. Way too much work and has no regard for our classes. The tests get harder and she is never on schedule.

Dr. Pruitt is a great lecturer. You can tell how passionate she is about History and how much she wants us to learn. She gives extra credit throughout the year and adds it to your final grade. We were required to read 2-3 books and do a book report. The exams were 50% multiple choice but the other 50% was an essay over the books we had to read.

Dr. Pruitt is an okay professor. Shes passionate about what she does but makes history slightly harder than it has to be. Tests are fairly easy if you study, complete the reviews & listen to her audio recordings. What makes the class difficult is the outside readings for the exams & the papers assigned. Youll have to really work for your grade.

If you don't like to read, get far away from her as possible. A ridiculous amount of readings. Has no disregard for your other classes.

Doctor Pruitt is really into her lectures which is amazing. The entire semester the class was not sure what we were supposed to do, but if you turned anything in at the end of the semester she gave you a 100. I turned in my 15 page research essay and she read it in 5 minutes and gave me a 100. Her class can be frustrating but its an easy A.

Wow, what an amazing, passionate, animated orator! Although history is a little dull for my taste, she made it exciting and very interesting. The tests were a little difficult unless you attend everyday, in which case, you'll do great. She covers, literally, everything that'll be on the tests. Writing assignments were easy As.

She's very into her lectures that sometimes she gets excited. She gets really loud and moves around a lot. But she is a very caring and helpful professor. She drops a test to help out your grade. If you dont read the textbook you wont pass the tests guaranteed.

Dr. Pruitt is very passionate, but she is the most disorganized professor I have ever encountered. She took 2 & 1/2 months to look the first half of our 2000 word bibliographies, and when she finally gave us our "feedback" it consisted of one word responses. She also knows her test reviews have had incorrect information in them for five years.

The one thing I can give her is that she really cares about what she's teaching, so much so, she'll tailor what history she teaches to only pertain to things she's interested in. She often yells during the lectures. Very passionate. Many of the test question were ridiculous, however the study guides were copied and pasted onto the test.

Rarely stayed on topic, tests were practically copy/pasted off the review (which had nothing to do with the in-class lectures), and the dates of projects/papers/tests were constantly moved around. Seemed like an interesting woman, but certainly shouldn't be teaching introductory level classes.

Lectures were long/off topic, class ran late often, tested over topics not discussed, & test/project due dates were changed often. Seemed to not realize that we had other classes & our lives didn't revolve around HIST1302. Great person and interesting to listen to. Says okay every other word and it got very annoying. Also she didn't bump up my 89.

Pruitt is a very nice woman however she did not respect our time and was almost always off topic and behind schedule. She assigned a paper and asked us to send her the first half for comments before we wrote the rest. It's been 2 months and finals are next week and she is just now getting around to it. I'm sure she is good for upper level classes.

While she is very enthusiastic, she is so to the point that you can't catch everything she talks about. Her lectures were quick, and got off-topic often. While this personality can get some students excited to learn, it could be a real bother to others. Tests are VERY hard if you do not use the book/lectures/reviews, yet still difficult if you do.

Dr. Pruitt is a great professor who is really interested in the subject! She is super passionate about teaching and is very animated in her lecture so it's almost impossible to fall asleep in her class. Her tests are VERY similar to the reviews and she offers a SIGNIFICANT amount of extra credit opportunities.

I have never met a professor as passionate for a subject as Dr. Pruitt. BUT, get ready to work in her class. The assignments due were a mid term with two essays, book review, annotated bibliographies, and a final paper at the end of the semester. She gives a syllabus with instructions on all the assignments, and is willing to help when asked.
