He is a great guy but this isn't ABOUT the guy that he is. It's about the kind of teacher he e and unfortunately he is super lazy in that department a d doesn't put an effort into his course. He needs to retire already and let someone else in who still has passion to pass on there knowledge. Super frustrating

Bright but fails to shine! Lazy professor who passes the buck as often as possible! I wish he would take time to work on hsi delivery...BORING! Frankly, for being such a Social Justice and Peace promoter he acted unjustly in our class!

One of the worst professors I've ever encountered. Boring, monotone, repetitive, and his slides are useless. Incredibly lazy -- uses random guest speakers and movies to fill in time. He may be passionate about SJPS, but he doesn't pass it on to us. He killed all interest I had in this program. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Bernie is a really nice guy, but not the greatest prof. A little frustrating that he played favorites, that due dates don't really matter, and that he would always be late for class. He's very smart though, its a shame he never really spoke in class and shared what he knows.

bernie WAS monotone but you get used to it; and when he cracks off jokes you never see them coming, had to bite my fist a lot to not crack up. Tests were no problem, material was interesting but you could afford to show up 1/2 hour late before he really got going into anything.

Despite all of the naysayers out there, I really enjoyed Bernie. I have to admit his class seemed kind of redundant as I never went and still pulled off an 82 just by doing the readings. If you get to know him outside of class I think you'll understand why he is still around.

I'm sure he loves research, but he obviously lost his passion for teaching a few decades ago. The tests are easy enough if you've read the book, and he often uses classes for presentations from foreign people, which you can skip out on.
